Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
About trucks, there will be as many opinions as there are drivers.
Personally I'm a fan of the Renault Premium I used to drive one almost exclusively in my short trucking career, it was a 4x2 460Dxi specced for medium-heavy haulage. The company I used to work for had all sorts of trucks/brands and funnily enough the 3 Premiums we had were the only trucks that never (NEVER) broke down. From what I know the company still uses them to this day, while every other truck was replaced with a newer model. So I guess the Premium after all can be reliable truck.
On the other hand I know a lot of people who complain about MB trucks quality and stupidly high fuel consumption, but then again I know a few who are happy with them. Same goes for Scania - you will find a lot of fanboys, but the truth is, those trucks are really cheaply made and quality control is "lacking" to say it gently.
Lucky for us all, ETS2 and ATS are just games where each and every truck is 100% reliable, so you can just pick your favorite design and forget about everything else

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
I know little about European trucks other than they are all boxy & bland and I understand there's a reason for that.
When I play ETS2 which is about half as often as ATS, my two go to trucks are the Renault T and the new DAF 21. With Kreichbaum's Detroit Diesel engines, they even sound good.

I dont understand why SCSsoftware haven't used real engine sounds for trucks. I'm pretty sure the licence wouldn't stop them but I could be wrong on that.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
SCS does use real sound for the trucks, problem is the sound mixing is done by a guy who has (from what I understand) a musical education and is not an engineer. So he mixes the sounds to "sound good" for his musical ear, problem is: because of that, they don't sound realistic at all.

Sorry but scania s or r sound nothing like real life and i will record sound later or tomorrow when up at my family business.
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
That's the point Wolfi made. It starts with real sounds and then is mixed badly. He never said they sound like the real trucks.

Yup, SCS did the recordings
I don't know what went wrong, but I do know mixing recording is not an easy task as it might seem
It requires a good deal of talent and the right equipment, eg reference speakers are an important but often overlooked factor
Eg Scania V8 back in 2013

People is also bashing on Iveco.I never drove them(or any other truck, for that matter) IRL.But ingame,i find the Iveco Hi-Way to be a nice little truck.
Sure,the model quality isn't the best,but yeah.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Iveco is underrated. It’s the only truck sound in game that’s pleasant to hear. Also, they sip fuel.
