Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Good Morning.
I believe keeping the 1:19 scale until the end of the ETS2 project. Then you can resize 1:15.
This logic can be used to build the WTS - World Truck Simulator, with continental projects: Asia, AUSTRALIA and NEW ZELANDIA, Brazil and South America -ATS, Mexico and Canada -ATS, Central America and Caribbean -ATS. Africa. Starts construction of the project at 1:19 completes the project. Later updates to 1:15 allow for more routes, new cities. Today's cities even more realistic. And SCS can create games to cover and bring to life farms, airports, ports, factories, gas stations, restaurants, highway police, buses, stores and have new audiences. WTS would have plenty of multiplayer life and player-generated payloads. So WTS would be a very collaborative mega game with "real" loads, produced by players of other genres I mentioned, for example.

Wouldn't be realistically possible though. They'd have to do it as a whole new game, they certainly wouldn't be able to do it for free either way.

And it could take approximately 4 times what it takes them to complete the same map we have in the game now. So, at this moment we could be luckylly seeing teasers of VLF DLC

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
I don't think SCS will rescale ATS or ETS2, but if they ever starts a new game such as Australian Truck Simulator or something, I hope they start it with a larger scale.

Isn't Australia desolated enough already, why make it even more desolated at 1:15?
I have approximate knowledge of many things

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Rescaling now on ETS2 and ATS is practically a mission impossible. Both games are getting the map bigger and bigger. Basically the job of rework the map with a new scale is the work for building a new map in a new game. A larger scale for a new game in the future is much more rewarding. Australia for example, 1:10 or 1:15 would be perfect.
ATS and ETS2 is Hella nice!

Australia is roughly the size of the continental US, but with way fewer roads. Given the ratio of land area to roads in Australia, a larger scale would give the map the same playability as a US based map or a European based map.pigbrother wrote: ↑26 Sep 2021 18:34 Isn't Australia desolated enough already, why make it even more desolated at 1:15?

About making the world 1/15 or 1/10 (this is too large in my opinion):
I think all the people advocating it are talking about ETS3/ATS2, not an update or a "DLC". I am one, at least.
Involves some more money of course. Roughly double (game at 50, map DLCs at 30).
Buyers' choice. That's how I see it. Anyway I'll be dead or senile by that time...
Already? Am I?

Indeed, larger scale... larger in the reduction number. Like the 1:35 original in ATS pre-rescale.supersobes wrote: ↑26 Sep 2021 18:50Australia is roughly the size of the continental US, but with way fewer roads. As pigbrother said, there's no reason to make a bigger map when the content is fewer. The sensation of desolation (even if in places should be necessary) would be enormous.
