ETS2 was Added to Steam in January 2013, and it always showed the release date on steam as January 2013, Last year they changed it to October 18th 2012! If SCS are the ones who changed it I think they did intentionally and not a misstake!

I thought that Steam changed things so that the release date shown is the original release date of the game, not the date when it came to Steam.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/70/HalfLife/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2382 ... m_Shock_2/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3910 ... _Complete/

Then again, you have games that debuted on another storefront and list the release date as the Steam release date:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1099 ... Saga_TROY/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5786 ... er_Worlds/

So maybe it is up to the developers, or there is one rule for games that came before steam and devs can pick for games that came after Steam? Idk

I wonder how SCS will celebrate ETS2's 9th anniversary. Could it be possible they announce the next map expansion even though I highly doubt it.

Well if they do reward us with something in correlation to do with the map, imo it will probably have something to do with Austria reskin.

I could see Austria rework announcement but not the next DLC, too early for the latter IMO. But Austria rework would be nice since it's thematically tied to celebrating an anniversary, reworking areas that have been in the game since the beginning (and others that have been in the game almost as long too).

About the date, last year's blog post was posted on 10/19/2020 05:28:00 PM Prague Time, but they said ETS2 released on October 18.

Well last year to celebrate ETS2 8th anniversary, SCS released a post showing pictures of what is now the HoR DLC although not giving away any thing else. But this may have been because they were initially going to release Iberia around the end of 2020 and not knowing they were gonna delay it.

@Komen My theory is the opposite, that by that point they had a feeling that Iberia would be delayed, so they threw us a bone with the HoR tease to keep us preoccupied. We won't know for sure though. Now that the general expectation is for HoR to come in 2022, there is less of a need to throw us a bone because the departure from the typical release window is expected in advance this time. But we will see.

Iberia was postponed on purpose due to the lighting system which came with 1.40
We got a blog post explaining the reason behind the delay

But was not ONLY that, they also admited it wouldn’t be ready in time being too much work during a hectic pandemic year. Pavel told it, but maybe someone with a better memory can tell us during which stream.
