What could they have make with Hornbrook? I hope that with the rework they have made the city useful.

I don't know what the problem is with ETS2 mapping and art teams, but their ATS counterparts consistently release better content. I had hoped Iberia would have narrowed the gap, but it did not, and this California rebuild is looking better already.
I think that people from both teams are doing a fantastic job,it kinda seems that with every new dlc one of the teams is forcing the other one to push the boundaries even further with the quality of the next one.Iberia is not an exception, for me personally that dlc right now seats on the highest spot on the ladder.

Cities were adjusted in the Germany rework.

Not usually by very much, but they weren't completely untouched, and a few were in fact substantially changed. This all happened with the first Germany rework, though, and I concede that some cities could probably have received more love than they did.

If California's cities get more thorough reworks, though, it will probably be a consequence of two things: the fact that ATS cities tend to be more ingrained into their road networks than ETS2 cities, and the fact that the early ATS cities were created at 1:35 scale. These two things pretty much make it unfeasible to leave the cities alone, because cities are in many cases the cause of base map jank. Resultant city exclusion (such as San Jose, San Bernardino, or Modesto) paired with somewhat odd city selection (such as Hornbrook, Oakdale, and Huron) doesn't help the issue.

It worked normally here in mobile - using a mobile web browser, obviously.

Frankfurt and Leipzig were completely rebuilt in update 1.32. And Nürnberg was rebuilt in 1.35. Other cities were just reworked and received minor changes.

Revisiting the cities in California is what i take most from this blog. As others have already pointed out, this is what lets the Germany reskin down. I just pray the ETS2 map team has the same idea for the remaining ETS2 base map. Maybe after all the base game and Going east is reskinned, they can rework some of the depots and maybe give the base map some unique companies.

We believe yes. The first part must come on 1.41 update.

The ETS2 base map rework is very good when it comes to the Autobahn and b-roads, but that's it. Some of the cities got more love than others, but none of those cities have got an overhaul that even meets Vive la France "low" standard. Also nothing has been done to the environment around Autobahn/b-roads, except maybe a little in the last addition.

Germany is more like just a transit with fast flowing highways and are best suitable as night driving. There is nothing to look at anyway. Even though, the Autobahn is a personal favourite for cruising and listening to some good radio station :D

Germany was a test case imo, a proof of concept. It's a bit unfortunate, as Germany really deserved a proper ground up rebuild, but it is what it is. Either way, it's certainly a remarkable improvement over what we had :)
