Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
I have a confession to make, I kind of got over Iberia after just 3 days. Something about it just did not hold my attention that well. Not sure if it was the behavior of the AI, or something else. Whatever it was I have not fired ets2 up since completing the personal goal for cruising Iberia. Don't see myself launching it any time soon either.
I'm passionate about Mack Trucks, grew up around them as a kid.
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
I could say even I ain’t too excited to explore the remaining cities after the event. Yeah the cities are spectacular, the prefabs are challenging to manoeuvre, the viewpoint views are eye catching and so on, yet for some reason, something doesn’t create that excitement to explore the remaining cities.
One reason I could come up with is the road network itself. Iberia is huge and most of its trucking road network is of freeways. That gives us a huge amount of freeways, which should be at least more than half of the length of freeways in France and Italy combined. Personally I felt a bit bored while driving in the freeways because of the 90 kmph speed limit, due to which I often ended up either slime racing with other trucks or slamming at them due to their sudden mood swings. But most of the time, one Cruise control and you are all set, you would cruising at a high speed so who would have enough time to appreciate the scenery anyway?
Also, most of the industries that are the USPs of Iberia are not located in a major city (except for a few obviously), so it would take few hours of game time to reach those villages from the nearby garage, which might end up as a one-time effort for many. Such places would only make good delivery points for trucks coming from other places. I wish this situation changed. At least Freight market and Cargo market should be able to display the jobs in a certain radius and not just the city (I’m not sure if WoT would display jobs from undiscovered cities that are within the radius).
I believe it’s high time to look into other aspects of the game as well. Map expansions are great but in the end, it’s the usual work of delivering cargo from A to B, and for Iberia, it’s done through those two connections to France most of the time (again, geography, can’t blame), so there’s a fair chance of things getting monotonous, despite a great map DLC. Spicing up things in other ways (more managerial decisions, multiple pickup and drop and so on) would definitely help things to synergise. This is just my opinion.
