SCS General Discussion Thread
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Hi guys, small question here... Does anybody knows if the current gen of the Renault T is still being produced and sold ?? And if so, for how long will they still be available for the public before the T Evo hits the market ??

I somehow have a feeling that the new DAF might have some new stronger engines coming, since its a new truck it might be possible to upgrade the engine lineup too, I know that these engines already got upgrades and stuff, but I sense they are preparing something else, anybody else think so ?
Edit : Since they already gave us a sneak peek at the engines they are working on currently the hydrogen one and the electric one maybe there is something else.

Thanks @parasaurolophus67 !!
@FalleN_KinG They unveiled a brand new market segment never seen before and honestly, if they were indeed working in more powerful engine options, they would have taken the chance to surprise us even more with it releasing these engines together with the XG and XG+. Which they didn't, so i think it's unlikely to come in the up-coming years, plus, the reveal video said that the MX-13 featured in the NG DAF's are all revised with new technologies. (New tech, same old enigne)

Well @55sixxx that's the problem new tech old engine, maybe it just isn't ready or closely to finishing since like you said old engine, since this is a flagship and kind of shaping the future with extended cabs and aerodynamics there might be more to the story. DAF even experimented with a twin turbo 560 hp back in the day who knows, they are behind in hp only Renault has 520 then DAF 530, meanwhile they don't have these extended cabs nor aero features like DAF. Just sayin.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Renault is a more budget oriented brand of Volvo AB, you will find more premium features in that group at Volvo trucks
That said, other trucks companies does have higher horsepower engines in the 12-13L range than PACCAR/DAF, many have about 540 HP (Volvo and Scania being the prime examples), and Iveco probably have the most powerful offering in that segment, with its Cursor 13 being available with a rating of 570 HP.
Which is a bit ironic, since in North America, PACCAR MX-13 is the most powerful in the 12-13 L range at 510 (with the others being usually at about 500, with the Detroit dd13 having a 505 rating, and the Cummins x12 only having a 500hp engine in vocational ratings)

Aren’t Volvos and Scanias 16-litre engines? I guess Volvo’s is 500 and Scania is currently 510 in the 13-litre segment.
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Volvo has D13 540 HP
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Oh okay, all these days I thought D16 had 540 hp (In game, I always stick to 500 hp).

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Scania also has an inline 6 with 540hp that is right between the 16l V8s
