Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
One of the problems I see with this push on electric vehicles is the charging capabilities. Lots of areas electrical grid is struggling especially through the summer months to keep up with the demand, now we are going to throw millions of vehicles on that system also? I mean electric this and that sounds good on paper, but is it really being realistic that this will happen? I think it will be a few here and there, but not enough to make the difference that is being sought. We can plan on a higher percentage of electric vehicles by 2030, but until we find a way to shore up the electrical grid I have my doubts it will be pulled off. States can try and mandate zero emissions, but if they can not produce a way to charge these vehicles and handle the load, they will either go without supplies, or cut back on the zero emissions thoughts.

Oh I understand that it is starting, but can you imagine if all vehicles were electric the draw that would have on the electrical grid to charge them. I just can't see it happening to the amount they are pushing for. For an example, California, zero emissions, sounds fantastic. I seriously doubt that their electrical grid can handle millions of vehicles charging on it on top of all the other draws they currently have on their electrical grid.
