Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Seen as the interior and dashboard of the Kenworth T680 Next Gen and of the Peterbilt New 579, I believe that the interior and especially the dashboard of the New DAF must be the same style.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
There had been some new vehicles released in the lasts months (I've heard at least of one Peugeot) that had to turn back to analog gauges instead of the initial intended "all digital" due shortage of components.
One of the most problematic shortage in the chip manufacturing right now are display controllers. They are a minor piece (they cost just 1$ each); but they are absolutely mandatory for anything that has a digital display. And with that weird trend of putting a display on everything, the massive increase of electronic stuff sales for confined people and other problems in the logistic chain... now as weird as it sounds, the shortage of such a basic chip is causing havoc in lots of companies.
So, don't discard the possibility of a conventional gauge dashboard as the only option available at launch time.
Regards

Chip shortage is causing a lot of grief among the manufacturers

It's just the actual 308 models, ending production. The new one will be with digital gauges. 2008, 3008 are not affected. Ah OK, thanks for the clarification DEDE62. I saw the info pass by but didn't catch the whole detail.
Maybe Peugeot and its suppliers are doing that to save components for the new releases, the ones they are more interested to have enough digital dashboards ready.
IMHO I still prefer to have conventional gauges combined with secondary on-board computer display. I found most of those newer all-digital dashboards are too cluttered with useless fancy forms and colors just to look futuristic and differentiate from other brands. But a dashboard isn't a entertainment display neither a billboard.

I wonder if the DAF tuning pack will be updated to include parts for the new truck.
There are naive questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question.
