How exciting, another 2048x2048 low res paintjob pack!

Might be the first one I won't buy. I'm tired of paying for inferior quality paintjobs that I never end up using.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
The only reason i've bought paint job packs recently is to try and figure out how they did something, for example the Metallic paint job pack (ETS2), or when i wanted to help someone and didn't have the paint job pack they had issues with.
I've bought the previous classic stripes pack because i thought it was cool, but never use it anymore, and I've only used one of them a long time ago.
Won't buy them anymore for myself to enjoy, the quality problem is not so much the size/resolution, it's mainly caused by using the RGB style of making a paint job, this will give unwanted artifacts between colours.
If they made them full colour (so that the player can't change them) the quality issues would be less visible, then again, they also messed up the DAF country paint jobs,....

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
The paint jobs could be beautiful, perfect-quality masterpieces and I honestly don't think I'd be super excited for them for the simple reason that I don't really like super showy designs.
The metallic paint job pack and the classic stripes paint job pack are probably my "favorites" (and the seemingly-new one at least seems more like them than the others), but even with them I pretty much just used them for one truck and went back to standard solids for my next one.

In my opinion all the paintjob packs and basic color scheme's that come with both games are unrealistic. Trucks in real life have company names and other assorted lettering on them. In real life you would probably get fined or shut down if your department of transport couldn't identify you going down the road.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
in the US maybe but not in Europe, most of the trucks are just plain color, same for the trailer, the cops are not out to get the drivers and even if they just stop them

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
When you look at maps.google, most US truck and trailer combos are white, the trailer will have a logo slapped on it and the truck will just have owner/operator and USDOT info on them, the truck colour will vary more often than the trailer colour.
In Europe there are some cultural differences, for example you'll find more colourfull trucks in the UK and Ireland, i'd count The Netherlands to that as well, but in many other countries it's a plain colour, but not all, mostly plain indeed though, but it varies per country how much more.
idk about the US, but in Europe most information needed by authorities can be gathered through the license plate.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
The only federally required markings on US trucks are the company name and the USDOT number. These must be posted on both sides of the tractor unit, and be legible from at least 50 feet away. You must also have an IFTA sticker for the current calendar year on both sides of the tractor unit. All other markings (VIN number, fire extinguisher inside, truck number, ELD sticker, GVWR declaration, etc.) are optional. Additionally, some states may require an additional number on the truck for trucks operating in or registered in their state (for example the KYU number in Kentucky, the PUCO number in Ohio, or the NYHUT sticker in New York).
