Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
@abasstreppas The letter ratings for the tires is only a thing in ETS2. ATS doesn't have that. There's no information given about any of the tires in ATS.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Ah, suspected that. Wonder why?. Doesn't US have a similar thing in real world like the EU marking of tyres?

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
We have tire letter ratings, but they're different than the ones in Europe. We have a national standard that rates tire traction with AA (best), A, B, or C (worst). We also have letters that rate the max speed recommended for the tires. For example, M is for tires rated to 81 MPH, N is for tires rated up to 87 MPH, and P is for tires rated up to 93 MPH.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
the markings you are talking about are on all tires sold in the world (well, the speed and load index) it is even marked as DOT number on every tire, i have tires for my old Polo with the letter W on it, so tires for speeds up to 240km/h, wich the car will never reach, dont know why the pre-owner though he needed racing tires with low profile on a VW Polo with 64hp (215/40R16 86W)

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Another feedback/question for you @TruckerDog.Since the heavy duty Dynamix SCS tire has been added some time ago,and is available for both steer and drive axles : can the new GoodYear G296 MSA be added to drive axles, since it's an all-position tire, and also a heavy duty tire?
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
385/65 or 425/65 tires aren't generally used for drive positions on truck tractors, and wouldn't fit on 8.25x22.5 or 12.25x22.5 rims so... what rims would they even put them on? A more appropriate matched drive tire would be something like a G282 MSD. Buuuut even then, SCS would have to deal with their aversion to taller tires because the smallest size for that is 11R22.5.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
We have the G296 MSA which is a multipurpose tire for the steer axle and not a suitable multipurpose drive axle tire? For vocational work? Instead we have the fuel max RTD which is regional tire better suited for light trucks? School buses?
I can't understand the logic.

There are naive questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question.
