What do you mean by saying "that doesn't exist"?

The point is: GTA V comes from a totally giant company that is Rockstar Games that is a multimillion company. I didn't quite understand your comparison.

Dear Marcello, it was just an example on how different lighting could look like. Besides, GTA V is very old, in the meantime, SCS is working on new lighting in 2021. Secondly, I didn't mention new games, where graphics crush ETS and ATS, but an old one.

I agree with @xXCARL1992Xx, the game is very dark, but you can see the difference in the way the lighting is working. The images of New Mexico in the forest prove this very easily and even with graphic mods it is not possible to reach that result. What worries me most about the game is the way the reflections work, everything looks polished and has a glossy effect, sometimes it's even difficult to see details of the truck with darker colors, I particularly wanted to use black trucks but the game seems like are military stealth planes.

Haha, dear plykkegaard, you must be joking now
Cartoonish look in GTA V? Perhaps other games too, including RDR2? In your opinion the only realistic looking game is ATS/ETS2?

SCS themselves showed all of us that comparison since the first day. To be honest, if you are unable to notice the difference, either you are blind or you are pretending to troll us. Chose the one you prefer.
And yeah of cousrse, I'm an SCS employee in disguise too. I say in advance so you don't have to loose your precious time answering with that kind of obvious facts like when you answered xXCARL1992Xx.

You really like to provoke?
FYI most games are in their nature cartoonish as the graphics are based on drawings I haven't seen one game which is even close to RL experience, like or not
A long list of AAA games has better graphics than the latest releases from SCS, but games is not all about graphics
Games from the 70ties or 80ties has far better in depth and realistic game play than anything you can find today

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Most games look cartoonish because most people are aesthetically impaired when it comes to photorealism. Just look at the smartphones camera processing, app filters, TV adjustments, Reshade presets and what not. Reality looks dull.

This reminds me of a trial back in 1993 between Nintendo and Alpex Computer Corporation about copyright infringement, Alpex was the first company to create a technology to store ROMs in cartridges in the mid 70s.
The debate was about bitmaps and vector graphics, Nintendo sued Alpex for misuse of its copyrighted techonolgy on sprites. One of the attourneys made a very funny query and forced to admit the Nintendo representative that BEARDS were the main difference between a cartoonish human bitmap and a plain human vector figure.
