Re: How satisfied are you with SCS?
the only thing for me that would make me put a 10 / 10, is that it reviews the cargo, that the refrigerated trailer is separated from the van, and tarpaulin, to avoid having to transport furniture in a refrigerator ....
and also to be able to unload a load of wood shavings, other than on a traditional dock, while just next door and in the same industry, there is that ...

what seems to me much more correct as an unloading dock ...
I say it clearly, that for me personally, after 3 cargos I stop the game, because it bothers me a lot this lack of realism ...

why? the reefer is a normal trailer and can be used like any other boxed trailer if the reefer unit is turned off, would you say no to a job to transport furniture that is payed good just because you have only reefer on your fleet/or the only free available one atm. ?

I'd say a reefer could be nice as antique furniture might require a temperature and humidity within a specified range and have it monitored

It's not wrong, but I personally feel uncomfortable why make 3 separate trailers ? if only one can do the same job in this case ?xXCARL1992Xx wrote: ↑06 Mar 2021 22:34 "that the refrigerated trailer is separated from the van, and tarpaulin, to avoid having to transport furniture in a refrigerator ...."

Re: How satisfied are you with SCS?
because not everybody wants to own a reefer just to haul non reefer loads, or because they need to load/unload it fast (curtainsider) or load more doesnt mean the other trailers are useless just because one could do all, it is all about specialisation of the company, you also wouldnt buy a low loader and transport a single forklift with it that a normal flatbed also could do
these are options for the player to decide, we already see in in ETS2 how castrated WoTr is when you own any other trailer then a curtainsider, why they didnt put the curtainsider loads on the reefer and container also is still puzzeling me

Re: How satisfied are you with SCS?
Somewhere between 8 and 9.
When it comes to ATS specifically, I'd say 9. The game has come enormously far from its launch, between the team's incredible receptiveness to feedback and the general high quality of new content that's been added since New Mexico (and especially since Washington.) The original version of the game was so pathetic-looking that I didn't even pay it any mind, but it's become a product that I'd not only recommend wholeheartedly -- but consider to be the current masterwork of SCS. It's the sort of turnaround that makes me feel like a proud father even as someone who barely actually contributed anything.
More broadly, probably 8. Despite how much people have quoted that line about their revenue lately, they're pretty much unrivaled by major publishers when it comes to value: in an era where gaming is dominated by lootboxes and $60-$70 games that have lots of DLC themselves, I'm definitely not going to complain too much about games that offer free updates and expansion packs that cost ~$20 a year (per game) and drop in price pretty quickly if you don't need them immediately. I've played many games that asked more for less. They're also pretty decent about transparency; sure, they're really quiet when it comes to licensing, and announcements will sometimes drop off the face of the earth for a while, but the simple facts that they have a regularly-updated blog and respond to concerns on the forum put them head and shoulders above most other publishers I've seen. The actual quality of their content has increased enormously, to the point where it almost feels unfortunate because it renders earlier content visibly outdated even if it was incredible upon release.
Still, there are definitely things they could stand to improve. Despite a lot of big "behind-the-scenes" improvements (like FMOD and the new lighting engine), there haven't really been too many new gameplay features in the last few years, and it'd be nice to see some highly-requested options among those finally turn up. ETS2 looks to be heading in the same "weird ass map" direction that ATS had for a while, which is kind of unfortunate. My hearing is bad, so I don't personally care much, but I hear about sounds often enough that I'd be interested in seeing them improve just so I don't have to see that anymore. I was a bit jaded with them for most of last year, but 1.40 -- which completed the Germany Rebuild and the 49X, alongside the introduction of extended chassis options -- did a lot to renew my confidence in them, because those were all big sticking points for me for most of 2020.

Re: How satisfied are you with SCS?
I gave them a 9. I think the fact that they're still supporting, updating, and improving a game as old as ETS2 gets them a lot of credit in my book. Plus the fact that they're willing to devote so much of their resources to updating the base map shows that they don't plan to remove that support anytime soon. Place that on top of how much they engage with and inform their community, I really have a lot of fun and comradery on these forums because there's always something new and exciting to talk about. The only points I'm knocking off and the reason they're not a full 10, listed in personal importance to me, are:
1) The AI has been bad for a while and only seems to be having more issues. I think this has been somewhat neglected and should have been addressed before
2) Some interesting choices on the ETS2 side of things in regards to DLC connections. The already awkwardly connected RttBS and now another awkward connection with HoR sans Belarus will make for some bottlenecks, something that I know severely reduced my playtime with some routes in ATS. It broke the map into "sections" depending on which side of Las Vegas I was on, and I'd never go between them. Same with RttBS for me, once I'm in the Balkans I don't leave for a while, and once I'm out I'm not going back for a while.
3) ATS really needs more cargo options. With the beta, I've been playing ETS2 a lot more and the sheer number of cargos, even ones hidden away in box trailers, is multiples of what ATS gets. That's a song I know has been sung often and would love to see updated sooner, rather than later.
And really, that's kinda it for me. Any other changes are just bonuses to me.

Re: How satisfied are you with SCS?
Most cargoes are suitable for a wide range of trailers

Re: How satisfied are you with SCS?
well, we had more diferentiated trailers with just partially overlapping cargoes, but as reaction to (mostly american) truckers and players we tweaked the cargoes-trailer compatibility (together with few fixes). now we are analysing how it works for playersLudoModding wrote: ↑06 Mar 2021 22:51It's not wrong, but I personally feel uncomfortable why make 3 separate trailers ? if only one can do the same job in this case ?xXCARL1992Xx wrote: ↑06 Mar 2021 22:34 "that the refrigerated trailer is separated from the van, and tarpaulin, to avoid having to transport furniture in a refrigerator ...."

btw, but they are not same. reefer has less space inside due to insulation, and is also hevaier due to insulation and reefer unit. so you can load more to curtain or dryvan than reefer.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.
