When leaving the Gillette city on I-90, the message from the weigh station remains on the screen for a very long time.

In fact, the message on the screen disappears only after crossing this place. It's 43 miles away from the weigh station. Isn't it too far?

Yes, this happens with me too. I do not like this when disappeared after long away.
Re: [Wyoming] Message from weigh station at Gillette
I posted about this in the Steam forum, and someone claiming to be a real truck driver and having driven through Gillette said that it is this way in real life. I have my route advisor set to always hidden, but I bring it up with a button when I need to check something and noticed it was there the whole time I was in Gillette, as well as the light on the little box in the windshield stayed lit.
There is another one in Cheyenne which is rather annoying as well. The weight station transponder reader is on an exit several miles before the weight station. I exited because my drop off was at that exit, but got pinged to pull in. I had to get back on the highway, go through the weigh station, up to the next exit and come back to make my delivery. I don't know if that is how it is in real life, but it seems that they would put the transponder reader before the exit so you don't exit, then have to get right back on if you're required to pull in for inspection.
