[Linux] Input methods are not working in ATS/ETS2 Linux version

#1 Post by kakurasan » 03 Aug 2021 13:40

On Linux desktop, input methods are used to input CJK text. However, currently they're not working in ATS/ETS2 Linux native version.

Tested versions:
  • ATS 1.41.1.10s
  • ETS2 1.41.1.5s
I can input CJK text in other X11 GUI apps (including ATS/ETS2 Windows version on Wine).

Since ATS/ETS2 1.36, Windows users can input CJK text using IME. I think the Linux version should provide a way to input CJK text too.

Now the feature is very important because of Convoy: CJK Linux users would be happy if they can communicate in their native languages.

Most input methods support XIM (X Input Method) protocol and ATS/ETS2 Linux version should support XIM for now.
