2022 Cascadia Corner Aero Deflectors- Incorrect Skin Application [MOD]

#1 Post by SuchManor » 07 Dec 2021 17:03

When a truck skin is used, it is incorrectly applied to the corner aero deflectors. They should only be color matched to the truck with no wording/decals from the skin visible. Because there have been hundreds of skins released for the Cascadia since it was released over a year ago, I would suggest making these pieces non skinnable so that creators wont have to go back and adjust their skins.

No map coordinates because this is not an issue with the map scenery.

that not a bug, you have to assign a texture to it like with every other accessory like sideskirts

First things first. This is a mod related issue so it shouldn't even be here and secondly, it's what Carl said... That piece needs it's own texture assigned to it.

The issue here is that this effects every single skin that has been made for the Cascadia since it was first released. So every single skin creator would have to fix their skin, which really isn't probable and a lot of extra work. What I'm suggesting is that SCS should make the corner deflectors non-skinble to fix this issue.

Also I don't see the issue with this being a "mod" issue. It is just truck skins, nothing more.

this is not an issue, every SCS skin works on it so you have to fix your skins, SCS sure as hell wont make it "unpaintable" because you are to lazy to add 1 entry into the accessory defs for the skins

I'm not suggesting it be unpaintable, just un-skinable. Just like how many of the other aero parts are in the game. This is a simple solution that will fix this issue for the skins that have been created over the last year, which there are hundreds of. This is my suggestion to SCS to make it easier for everyone and it is a very simple solution as the corner aero pieces do not need to be skinnable.

Unfortunately, SCS won't make changes to something just to make modders work easier. And it's not hard because all the modder has to do is add a single piece of texture (Ex: 32x32) to that part in the color he wants, compile the again and update the workshop/forum page.

Well I created this post hoping that SCS would help out mod creators with this simple thing. Also how many skin creators do you think will go back and adjust their skins? I think you and I both know barely any will since most of them have stopped skinning altogether. My suggestion is to help out those older skins that don't have a chance of being updated.

All you need to do is create a new template with the additional parts. SCS is not going to help with that. Community created content is specifically that.

Remember that the new accessory parts will need to be linked in the appropriate .sii file.

The 3D model needs an update which probably will fix most skin issues
