SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

[REL] Tregion ETS2 (0.2 - released!)

#1 Post by sven_engelen » 19 Apr 2017 09:45

Welcome to tregion! The Dutch map has dissappeared due to lack of animo and the loss of mappers. That's why we made Tregion! Tregion is a map covering a big part of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany on a scale of 1:2. With this scale we can use more space to create more! So now we can make more villages and towns and also add more exits in highways and provincial roads. We will do everything in English from now on and there will be a new neat website!

I am keenly interested in this.

A couple of points:

I was really excited about The Dutch Map project but when I tried 1.4 I and some others ran into a few issues:

The map was not fully OpenGL compatible. Please try to take into account users who have no choice but to work in OpenGL, and ensure the map will not cause repeated frequent crashes.

The second point is ensuring that the map is sufficiently optimized for slower computers. MhaPro, RusMap and Schwartzwald map all were well optimized to keep reasonable FPS, but the Dutch Map often (but not always) caused some users a noticeable drop that really spoils the experience.

Best of luck with this, it sounds like a fantastic project! :)

I liked TDM alot, I hope this lives up to expectations. :D

One thing though, will all the overhead speed signs change the speed limit, and will there be no more stop signs under the map? (That part was kinda annoying.)
