Rest period is part of the economics: the file economy_data.sii is changed. To make use of the shorter rest periods you should put it above any economy mod; otherwise it will not work. This also means that any economy mods probably will not work: Rest Period is not compatible with any economy mod. So you have to choose: or use the Rest Period mod, or use the economy mod, if you have any.

Ok, lets say I dont have any mods of that, but i still want yours to work. Where would i put it in the list of things ?

If you don't use economy mods, you can put it anywhere. I've put mine above the map mods.

Is it also possible to choose the rest-time ? So say I want to rest the first time for 4 hours and a few hours later I would like to rest for 12 hours ?

The only way to do that, without disabling my mod, is this: if you want to rest for 12 hours, just rest for 4 hours three times in a row. You can do that by pressing the <enter> key three times, instead of one time.
