Volvo FH 2009 - Correct roofs & spoilers

#1 Post by overfloater » 20 Jun 2020 22:03

Hi.

The low & medium cabs in-game look nothing like the real thing, and this is my attempt at fixing that.
I wanted this to be a quick project, so only the roof is replaced, and the level of detail is consistent with the rest of the truck. This means that the term "correct" is used a bit loosely here. :?

The changes;

- Standard cab - new roof, added a spoiler.
- Globetrotter - new roof, added a spoiler.
- Globetrotter XL - the medium cab is now the XL. Otherwise unedited.
- adjusted exterior seat position. From 1st hand experience, you can't position your seat like that in a Volvo, and then sit in it.

There are 3 banner/sticker things for the medium cab:

The last one is meant for you to edit.
open the mod with Winrar; open the image "vehicle/truck/volvo_fh16_2009/100020.dds" with Paint.net.
After you're done - save the image as a DDS file, in DXT1 format, with mipmaps on. Or in R8G8B8 format, for better quality but bigger file size.

I have not tested this for compatibility with other Volvo mods.

OMG they look so cool, resembles me of the 2008FH12 model, also yo still working on the 1st gen fh12 right? And is this mod compatible with FH Classic by Pendragon or Schumi's 2009 FH16 rework?
Also the sticker things you say is called lightboxes, they are changed according to cab

It is sad to see that the community has to fix SCS crap. Luckily we have people like you who make the models more acceptable. Thank you for your great work mate.

Thank you! Hopefully a low cab spoiler will come as well for the 2012 Fh 😬
Too bad SCS didn't include it

Thanks man. I'd hoped SCS would have fixed this before releasing the DLC, but flipping heck do they love to underdeliver and disappoint.
