I thought I will make a little update for the first post while the truck itself is being worked on.
Last month (June 2025) I decided to work with this legendary truck again, and it's successful already - after a few corrections I'm able to drive it in 1.54 (I do make the deliveries now with it). Here are some quick screenshots I took these days while tests: So, a range of things are already done these days, but there is still a list of things needing attention (def structure rework, engines being taken care of, dashboard lights etc.). I don't want to rush the release - and trust me, you'd never want it to (I used to ride unfinished truck mods and it's quite a disappointment which ruins all the fun). I guess I release it somewhere around this summer (2025).
The progress of the work itself will be shown as new post, this post is going to be updated only at the v.2.0 final release (and further after the release).
Please don't expect quite much of new features here - on the contrary, I'm currently try to keep the truck as it was released originally by MADster, just being capable of supporting all of the modern game features and being bug-free (spamming nothing to the game log too). What comes in distant future - well, no one knows, we will see when we reach the horizon.
And while I'm here, attaching the screenshot of MADster's permission I received around 4 years ago for the first stage release: I'm still highly grateful to MADster, CobraBlue6, everyone from their team for this wonderful truck, and all the people who helped me 4 years ago with different kinds of support (the credits list is still pretty much relevant and it'll be untouched at the release unless there are new helpful modders) - your work never been lost for nothing, the truck's resurrected with all of things you and me done together! Thank you again!
The truck's going to be released via Steam Workshop.
Me (PikPikker) being the major maintainer of the Roman Diesel and Automecanica Medias Reefer trailer (for this truck) mods currently, which means them both are officially released nowadays by myself only, and my only distribution platforms are now Steam Workshop and SCS Forum only, the final decisions for these mods (yet being not fully mine) are made by me - but I'm always open for cooperation.
Old post below (I'll need it kept untouched for the release preparation):
==================================================
Hello!
Roman Diesel truck by MADster was a very great truck for ETS 2 1.31, it was one of the favorite trucks of drivers of that time. But time passed, and the truck did not get the official updates, which did not decrease its popularity. We all wanted to keep it up with the game versions, and we made different fixes to keep it up to date.
What have I done? I collected all the fixes, added a few details - and here we go - this new version was born.
For some of you who have never seen the original topic, here it is: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=251801

This truck has low engine power, so you might start getting late with your deliveries. I made a simple mod which will change average truck speed to 40 km/h so you will no longer be late while driving Roman Diesel: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=293968

Once again: I'm not a modeller, I'm just a "def guy" who tries his best to keep the truck up to date. Thus do not expect any updates which need modelling (new cabins, chassis, visual accessories ect.). That is why I'm posting the "How you can help the project" note in case any expert modelling people would like to help me to.. to do what I'm doing here.
How you can help the project:
There are some more things to do to make this truck even better, and here's the list:
1) ZF AK 5-35 transmission original ratios (thanks to al_batros)
2) BDF chassis
3) Mirror reflection fix (thanks to me)
4) Cabin Accessories DLC compatibility
5) Man F8, Saviem and OAF front grill models:
