While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

doesnt matter, post the gamelog, nobody cares what a different person things if the mod author asks for one to verify it and you have to post one or you can solve the problem by yourself

Furthermore, it could be useful for all the community, aside from the author, perhaps to learn something. :)
All in all, many heads are better than just one (or two). ;)

I've figured out what files need to be edited to fix the dirty look of the truck - vehicle\truck\scania_rcab_edit\textures\color.dds and vehicle\truck\scania_rcab_edit\textures\color_sl.dds. The problem is, the textures for all the headlights and tail lights are on those maps as well, as is (somehow) the surroundings of the windscreen, and they all have to be masked off properly before the balance can be changed. On the plus side, the truck colors look way better when you turn the brightness and contrast of the textures up to max, on the minus side, I missed a spot when I was doing the masking and the windscreen frame turned out kind of strange. I don't know where on the UV map the windscreen frame parts are, so don't know how to fix the problem. :/

If anyone wants to take a stab at it, the files open just fine in GIMP with the DDS plugin (both of which are free), and you don't need to do any editing of any other files, just replace the textures in the mod and load it in game to check what it looks like. My 2D skills are absolute crap, and GIMP is not really what I'm used to but I can't afford Photoshop anymore...

@LoaderSaints

Something that's been bugging me for a while about this mod (other than the AO map issue which I thought I'd fixed, but apparently it still needs work) has been the weird placeholder names in the truck browser. I finally learned how to fix this, and so I've done just that, and figured I'd share.

Basically, what's needed is a "locale" folder in the root of the mod, with language folders for each of the 42 languages in the game; and in each of these a .sii file is created where the definitions for the "truck_browser_brand_scania_whatever" variables are stored. Since I just did it for myself, I figured I might as well share it for inclusion in future versions of the mod. I used the same names as the display names in the truck dealer (i.e. Scania G, Scania R (RJL), Scania R (4-series), Scania T, and Scania T (4-series).

https://drive.google.com/file/d/16DqfWS ... sp=sharing

The "locale" folder inside the .zip goes straight in the root of the folder that contains the mod (i.e. in the same folder as the def and vehicle folders), of both the base mods (RS/R4/G and T/T4). The game does not care if there are unused definitions in this .sii, so I just made one version for both files and since they're identical, mod order doesn't matter even if both mods has them.
