[TOOL] - Templates for 3rd UVMap - 1.9.x Skins

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Hello, people.
This topic is for posting the templates of the new skins introduced by SCS with 1.9.x patch. These skins are mask type only, as far as I see.
With time I will try to put all the templates, as I extract them.
These skins are a bit different. They are completely symmetrical, you only make one half of the truck.
Also, to activate the 3rd UVMap, the skin definition must specify

Code: Select all

 	alternate_uvset: true

FH16 Classic (2009)

New FH (2012)

SCANIA Streamline

old templates will be useless after the next update i assume about this?

They work, too. This is the reason these skins use an additional UVMap, to allow old types to work, simultaneously.

understood. these are indeed symmetrical, but front grill can't be texted anymore (as i looked at it)

Well, nothing can be text-ed, except the back the cab, I guess.
These are mainly for artistic shapes etc.

Oh, and another thing... If you follow SCS Software's example you can use the same skins on different trucks. That is a brilliant idea, actually. :) No more endless editing to have a full fleet, just a one time deal.

well in photoshop you can add a text at any place in the file ;). so guess we've had a misscommunication there:P.

that would indeed be awesome much easier to make skins for all trucks then:).

Of course you can add text, in Photoshop. But it's going to be mirrored on the other side of the truck! :)

too bad. its unreadable then haha. just design on it then :P. or! use the new format templates for design skin and the old format templates for company skins :)

Hmm. I think it's safe to say I will be sticking with the UV1 style for templating.

I did get worried there for a moment trying the updated blender plugin, for a few minutes there I thought it was going to be impossible to do the old syle. :shock:

If they change this, the ETS studio is going to be useless now or what?! Any idea? Or they will add changes to meet this requirement of 1.9+.
