Re: [REL/WIP] Arnook's Container Pack (V10.1 - 1.41 - 17/09/2021)
@Thibault078 That's not how the container business works in RL.

Regardless of how it works in real life, that's not the way this mod is made. And I don't plan on changing that.

@seth_haveron you need to use 40ft not 45ft because in the pack (what i atm know) is the flatack ONLY 40ft and not for the 45ft

i know the visible part is 40" but i at the 45" part of it here ...
i get the 45" container for the 45" trailer how its should be but the description should be decoupled from it as it has nothing to do with 40 feet.
so the cargo definition still need a little tweak here.

This issue is already somewhat described in the first post but i'll explain it once again :
The SCS system for containers is as follows : each cargo has ONE NAME and is automatically available for ALL container types/lengths (i.e : 20ft, 2x20ft, 40ft in the base game. This mod adds the 45ft length) provided it is listed in the "container" category. I CAN'T limit it to one or two length(s) only, if I had done so and chose not to add models for specific lengths (for example : limiting all the flatrack cargos to 40ft only), then if someone went ahead and chose a chassis using a different length (in that case : 20ft, 2x20ft or 45ft), then that person would end up with an empty chassis when picking up the job (no container, since no model was specified by me).
To avoid empty chassis on all the new cargos that this mod adds (reefer, box container, box container HC, flatrack tank container), I chose to add the models for OTHER containers that I had available that fitted the length but not necessarily the right type (reefer and flatracks for example).
--> For example : I only have the flatracks available in 40ft (for the moment at least), to avoid empty chassis on 20ft/2x20ft/45ft, I added regular container to these lengths for the flatrack cargo.
When I'll add the next flatrack lengths, I will remove the inappropriate container types for this cargo.
This solution isn't perfect, but I still prefer a different container, not corresponding to the cargo, than to deceive the users of this mod and have them haul empty chassis which are not fun.
I, personally, have zero problem with the way SCS chose to do things, as their system only requires a bit of common sense to understand.
Therefore, I will not alter my mod because of it.

Re: [REL/WIP] Arnook's Container Pack (V10.2 - 1.41 - 19/09/2021)
The way I see it, the other container arrangements can provide slightly different cargoes of the same item.
Take the forklift cabins for example. Even though they don't show as actual forklift cabins for a 20-foot container trailer chassis, I figure the container contains spare parts or assemblies that are to be used in the actual forklift cabins.
As for the refrigerated goods, I figure the non-reefer containers are loaded with cold packed or dry-ice cooled boxes.
At my work place, we frequently get cardboard boxes contained specially prepared cold shipments going through.
Inside the box, it's a styrofoam container with the actual products inside of that.

@Arnook There is also another way to make the containers spawn just what their chassis or type are made for, but this requires messing around with def files quite a bit.
Basically, you need to change the cargo and trailer defs files. For example, change the trailer defs body_type of the 20ft container to something like "container20" instead of the vanilla "container".
After this, the best solution is creating (more) custom cargoes. At least one for each container size (more is way better ofc for different weights and earnings but it can quite tiresome) and set them the body type "container20", "container40" or whatever name you choose, but it has to always match the body_type trailer definition you previously changed. You also have to fill the company definitions too.
I have done this myself privately (still building it anyway) and it works great. I never get offered let's say a 40ft" HC when I'm hauling the 20ft chassis container, or a reefer container or reeferish cargo type with the 20ft. I know you won´t change how the mod works in this aspect it but just letting you know there is a way to avoid these undesired lenghts when you have a specific type of container and to make/filter the cargo market a little bit cleaner too. Hope I explained myself.

leave it as is...that way one can use them in WOTC .... it's a game, one can't have it exactly as IRL
