realistic clutch physics for ETS2 and ATS

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Re: realistic clutch physics
I'll give this a try as the default clutch is... well... you know...
Re: realistic clutch physics
Is it possible to implement this into other physics mods?
Re: realistic clutch physics
You can use it with other physics mods but always on top of the other mods, You can also copy the clutch parameters into the other physics mod, I have only change the clutch parameters in the original physics file.
Re: realistic clutch physics for ETS2 and ATS
Am I right in thinking it's all these lines?
Code: Select all
# clutch strength
clutch_viscosity_factor: 0.75
clutch_connected_viscosity_factor: 10.0
manual_clutch_viscosity_factor: 0.25
manual_clutch_connected_viscosity_factor: 20.0
# torque converter strength
torque_converter_viscosity_factor: 0.3
torque_converter_locked_viscosity_factor: 10.0
# relative magnitude of flywheel inertia
inertia_scaling_const: 1.0
# transmission inertia relative to the flywheel
transmission_rel_flywheel_inertia: 0.5
Re: realistic clutch physics for ETS2 and ATS
Yes only the clutch parameters
Re: realistic clutch physics for ETS2 and ATS
@B787 let me know if you like it.
@John did you succeed it?

Re: realistic clutch physics for ETS2 and ATS
@Leen I've not yet fired up ETS2, working from home & such likes means a bit less desk space. Will give it a go over the weekend though!
Re: realistic clutch physics for ETS2 and ATS
@Leen tried it a few days ago, clutch feels good I stall a lot less now feels more progressive but still doesn't beat a real life clutch pedal feeling.
Re: realistic clutch physics for ETS2 and ATS
Thanks for trying it and yes nothing beats the real thing but a real clutch feels different to a simulated clutch, try to make a hydraulic one in your pedal set.
