I have to say, I'm loving the new DAF truck. Might just be time to pass on my trusty old Volvo which has done over 800,000Km !

In my opinion the grille(also the top chrome part) and the whole front needs an option to be painted or be gloss/matte black either in the base game or the dlc.

Bit of a shameless self-promotion here, but if you look over in the mods/truck accessories section of the forum, I've got you covered. :)

After trying it once - not a fan of this truck. Not because of SCS's implementation (issues with which have been mentioned already) but because of its ergonomics. Gamified dashboard with these blue bars for CC and tachometer is just horrible. If DAF wanted to go digital, I'd rather see large easily readable numbers instead. Of course, it's been done because of the whole "truck drives itself now, you only need auto and you'll only get auto" direction taken by the industry, but I still dislike it because I prefer sequential manual mode. Mirrorcams are not unusable, but uncomfortable. With normal mirrors, you can turn camera a bit (which doesn't rotate in place, emulating driver's slight leaning instead) and change the visible angles. No such thing for mirrorcams (and the FoVs are weird). I think MB has a "trailer tracking" feature because of that, which turns the cameras automatically when truck turns, trying to keep trailer's tail visible. Either DAF didn't think of it, or SCS couldn't implement it. Thankfully, option for normal mirrors is still there.
The truck looks nice, but that's about it. Driving it was ridiculously uncomfortable.

The one feature I did like when I tried it was night driving with the mirror cams - the lines in the road were still easily visible even in the dark due to the increased brightness of the mirrors, which helps a lot with making sure I'm still in my lane.

Most of my complaints with the truck are basically problems with the fit and finish of some of the exterior bits - tiny slivers of truck paint showing through between plastic parts that get magnified by the poor anti-aliasing, the inability to get rid of the aluminium-colored trim on the roof without invasive 3D surgery, and the lack of locators for aftermarket accessories (lightbars and bullbars). We'll get them eventually, in the meantime I can fix a lot of the rest myself.

As SCS said on the Steam page, the other chassis will become available in the game when in real life DAF announces them. For now, only 4x2.
