Anyways, the latest game version is the latest game version. Sometimes it introduces new bugs but mostly (from what i have seen) the game gets better and better with each release.
So your claim that 1.8.2.5 is the worst version of ALL is quite far fetched. (If you meant otherwise you need to rephrase that)

And the majority of players (based on my biased assumption) are using the Steam version these days. That means they are ALL using 1.8.2.5 and not 1.7 or some other version of the game.
Even so, most non steam users (once again, based on my assumptions because i can't tell without accurate statistics. Maybe we should make a poll?) are using the latest released patch for the non Steam game.

Many users are even running the latest public beta patches when available on Steam, despite them being "new bug country" and sometimes people blame SCS for their, what i can only assume to be, choice to play with a public beta in the first place.

So now then, about your issue... There are THOUSANDS of mods out there already for this game. A majority of those mods are old and outdated. This is not a flaw with the game, the game will progress with or without those mods working for the latest version.
One thing you will find however is that on certain mod hosting sites, old mods are NOT removed from the listings. Old mods are not updated because they are taken (without asking) from the original authors of the mods in question and forgotten about. Left there to "rot" just so their site gets as many visitors as possible.
In effect, you are being lured to these sites so they can make ad revenue off of you as a user... All this without hardly lifting a finger.

So blame the site you downloaded the outdated mod from, then "blame"* the original author for not updating his mod to the latest patch.

* - Actually, don't blame the original author. Modders are doing this in their free time. If they don't have the will or time to update their mods then you can't hold them to that. You are getting your mods for free where normally you would have to pay to get such content.

May i advice you to be more lenient in the future and spend a thought on WHY things are moving on?
Or would you complain about your car running out of spare parts after 20 years? It's just natural progression and you learn to live with it or live without.

Lastly, you could always update the outdated mods yourself if you can't handle it.

SCS, Please don't stop the update but MODDERS PLEASE STOP MAKING MODS FOR OLD VERSION RATHER MAKE MODS FOR NEW VERSION WHICH CAN BE USED ON OLDER VERSION AS WELL.
