AFAIK Game Mode only works in DX12 or OpenGL / Vulcan , I may be wrong but that's only time you get Win + G

I noticed the same thing -- I wanted to confirm that Game Mode recognized ETS2/ATS. The screen will flash dim/bright a couple of times on pressing Win+G, but that's all. So, I went the other way 'round to check if Game Mode was recognizing it. At this point, Game Mode is either all-on or all-off, is on by default, and only acts on games that are in the "My Games" list in the XBox app. I brought up the XBox app and checked -- both ETS2 and ATS are already in the "My Games" list -- So Game Mode should be acting on them automatically. I played for a half-hour or so, particularly in ATS which seems to give me more stutters and frame rate drops in cities. No stutters that I could see, and cities seemed smoother than before.

So it looks like the Game Bar may not work, but Game Mode itself appears to be taking care of business as it should.

okay
i've got my W10CU yesterday and now game crashed at startup. Just a standart win error. Me and my friend guessed that it can be DirectX 9 issue, he got the same problem. I tried to launch game with OpenGL and it runs. I tried to run couple old DX9 games (GTAVC/SA, for example) and it runs with no problem. IDK really. Maybe it's game issue, maybe SweetFX crashes.

@sminakov

In the new update of Windows 10, there is a new ''game'' mode thing. Try to disable that.

Start > Settings > (game thing) and left under > Game mode - Disable.

I hope you can understand my and know what i mean :p... :mrgreen:

Goodluck :)

To enable Game Mode in the new Creator Update build, you need to press 'Win+G' while the game is NOT in fullscreen mode. After enabling game mode in windowed mode, Windows will remember this setting and give higher priority of CPU and GPU resources to the game.

For background/regular recording using the Game DVR, see this: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-on- ... windows-10 -> 'How do I record a game if it's in full-screen mode?'
For PC games in full-screen (sometimes called full-screen exclusive) mode, you won’t see Game bar, but you can use the Windows logo key + Alt + R to start and stop recordings. You’ll see the screen flash when the recording starts and completes. You can also use the Windows logo key + Alt + G to record the last 30 seconds (or whatever time you picked) if you’ve already turned on background recording.

If the shortcuts do not work for a full-screen game, press Win + G. You’ll see the screen flash twice confirming that the game is recognized. After this, you can then run the game in full-screen again and use the Windows logo key + Alt + R and Windows logo key + Alt + G.

so for those who use game mode through the new Creator Update, is this bringing any benefit to the game performances? I see shared opinions, crashes... I have not yet received the update and wish to know for when it arrives to me :mrgreen:
