How can I cancel high frequency sound?

#1 Post by Myxtro » 10 Aug 2017 09:23

Some trucks make a very high pitch tone when driving at certain speeds. This hurts my ears. Is there a way to cancel these high pitch tones? Perhaps with third party software?

Some sound cards support equalizer setting. You can reduce volume of sound by frequency there. You can also try and change specific sound files in ETS2. Another way would be to find a different sound hardware - big speakers generally have lower high frequency volume than small headphones.

That will be the retarder. What mods do you have installed, what is your knowledge of modding, pointless creating a small mod for you if any of your mods have the files below in them.

The sound level can be changed in:
def\vehicle\truck\common_sound_ext_data.sii
def\vehicle\truck\common_sound_int_data.sii

first data entry in both files.

^ I have no mods (other than TruckersMP). And none of my trucks has a retarder.

Probably turbo whistle.
You'll have to modify each individual truck's sound definition files to reduce the volume of the turbo.
