I hope, that SCS will fix problem with traffic spawn till ETS2 1.29 open beta is out.

I actually hope that traffic improvements will also address unrealistic density. If you look at ATS there is no problem with density there. ETS2 is a lot different story.

I know very little on ATS traffic (I bought the game only few days ago) at the first view on 1.29 beta it looks that g_traffic 10 is not enough to provide realistic high density (because max_vehicle_count default value is only 50), besides increasing traffic with g_traffic command generate too much traffic during the night so at the end traffic needs adjustments... probably will be the same in ETS2. let's see!

g_traffic now increase frequency and traffic count.
In my opinion, increate traffic count - this is bad way.
And will be good, that SCS return back "spawn_frequency" from obsolete parameter, but SCS have own plans for traffic ... maybe

Actually gtraffic 5 in ATS provides so many cars in my case its impossible to travel normally on some roads. Interesting it differs per setup.

@Mephic: "many cars" is a a relative term, I tested with g_traffic 10 and wasn't enough. it become enough only when I modified in traffic_data.sii max_vehicle_count to 150. I am very sure that g_traffic command do not increase the default max_vehicle_count which is only 50. with 50 you could have enough vehicles on local roads, probably also on motorways with no interchanges but not in large cities with lots of crossroads

That explains why I have seen traffic do stuff they hardly ever did before, good things like keep the slow lane open for traffic coming on to the highways when possible and better overtakes and stuff, still has some way to go but atleast they are working on it, when ever I hear SCS doing stuff like this it fills me with joy and hope, its touching almost to know one developer out there truely cares what we think and want out of this simulator, they really truely try to bring us what we want, guess thats why I so rarely ever give them crap because I always feel like they truely are doing their best to give us all teh things! <3

Yes SCS did greate things, but from time to time troubles happen. I belive in SCS, they can fix all problems. but we must wait... some time a long time... , as railcrossing in both games.
