As a result of this I removed all mods present in all my games, ETS2 and ATS included.

Isn't this the case only IF this proposition becomes a law?

Oh no. Right now when I am becoming a modder :(
I don't give up making mods. But I don't have enough time to do them now.

TBH , the only case companies can sue modders for copyrights is If the modders are selling the mods , but if the mods are free no one has the right to sue the modder

They already can, if you are using a companies trademarks or copyrights (like all skins) without permission, whether free or paid, then you are open to legal action against you. The reason they don't is because it's just not worth the legal costs, particularly if the modder is in a different country.

TBH This won't change much even if it does get passed, it's about monitoring user uploads. But how they plan to do that if the uploads are encrypted I have no idea. It could spell the end of good mods on Steam Workshop though.

I reserve the right to be 100% wrong.
But on my tombstone when I go, just put 'death by rock and roll'.

The idea behind the proposition is to force the game company to filter these ( and if they don't, sue them. Company got a lot more money than an individual )
The result could be that game developer deactivate all user generated content just because it can't be filtered :(

But with this new copyright law, it not concerned only game but all internet
