@Drive Safely you can also create a shortcut to open directly the game that contains the launch options. In fact, you can create multiple shortcuts each one with different launch options if you want to test or need it for different profile uses.

This way, unless you delete those shortcuts, you will keep their configuration no matter what Steam could do.

They aren't in game commands. They are launch options.

It does. Paste the commands in the game‘s properties in the Steam client, or make a shortcut to the executable with the launch parameters added.

Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and especially interested in this thread.
I'll try to keep this short so instead of posting the full story, just a question:
ETS2 is said to be Single-Thread-"Focused": What would be the best way to proove I'm CPU-bottlenecked in this regard? Afterburner monitor tells me my cores are all loaded around 35% each - I guess that does not (automatically) mean, there's lots of Single-Thread-Resources to spare. Which tool to use?
Thanks for any input!

You can't look at the load of the individual CPU cores because the execution of the different threads of the game is going to jump from one core to another (plus whatever other things could be executed in there).

In an easy but limited way, you can open the Windows Task Manager and look into the details page. If you are bottlenecked by CPU, the game executable is going to show a CPU usage a bit over 100/number of execution threads your CPU has

So, if you have an Intel CPU with 4 cores and hyperthreading (so, 8 effective execution threads); ETS2 bottlenecking CPU should had to show values around 13% in the CPU usage column in the Task Manager. Unless you have a very basic GPU, you can be pretty sure you are CPU bottlenecked without even look those numbers (the game is always trying to take as much as it can, unless the GPU bottlenecks first).

Thanks a lot - I'll try that!
Will report back detailling the reasons for the question - maybe the "whole story" will help others who run into the same "phenomenon":-)

An easy test to do is reducing your graphics settings significantly, e.g., much lower resolution and note the framerate before and after. If you were CPU bottlenecked, there should not be a large difference in frames. If there is a large difference in frames, you are likely GPU limited.
