Effect of single vs multi core applications
You need a CPU with strong single core performance

Hi all,

I am going to buy new processor and Motherboard.

I am confused between I9-11900K with Gigabyte Z590 and AMD 5800x with MSI B550 gaming edge wifi.

Request you to suggest the best option mainly for ETS 2, ATS, and other high-end titles like (Watchdog legion, Assission creed Valhalla, Farcry 6 (Upcoming)

I am using RTX 3080 graphic card and 32 GB ram which will remain there in new hardware.

Looking forward to expert comments.

@tarun.p - IMO, if you can afford the extra $200 or so, the AMD 5900X is the way to go; if not, save $100 and go with the AMD 5600X as it outperforms the 5800X. One thing to keep in mind when comparing cpus is AMD comes with a cooler, Intel doesn't, so you need to factor that cost in when comparing them. I have been running a 2700X on the stock cooler for about 2 years now with 0 issues (and I push that PC hard as it is my test bed); my Intel rig has been very reliable as well (i9-9820X).

Either of the choices you have will run pretty much any game easily; the AMDs are better at multithreading (in general) so if you multi-task or stream while gaming that should tip the balance....again, either are great choices and will have a long life in the right rig. Make sure you also look at memory parings as they both like different speed/timing settings to get the most out of them....seeing as you already have the memory, your previous choice may be a factor in picking the better cpu match.

and check the Front Side Bus speed of your m/b it should be equal or greater to the speed of the ram.

check the L1 and L2 cache in the intel compared to the Ryzen. That's usually where the money goes.
If you suck at playing the trumpet, that's probably why.

The AMD 5900x does not come with a cooler. I got one myself and it did not have its own cooler.

I have 3070 and 16ram and still trying to work out the best settings for ats mainly. At the moment the settings are 200 scaling ssmo high and everything max out except mirrors are on high not ultra

I get between 70 & 84 on 4k. At gpu utilization stay mainly at 99 may drop to 88 in city or towns

Ets 2 scaling 200 ssmo on mid and everything max out except mirror are on ultra.

64 to 89 fps on 4k 100 gpu utilization and drops to 99 in towns or citys

hello, I also use an rtx3070 with a triple screen, I am in scaling 400% with SMA and SSAO deactivated, fps at constant 75 and use of the graphic card between 65% and 90%

With low utlilization on GPU it might be the single core performance on the CPU is not the best
