I opt for Benelux. It’s small and could be tackled in an update or two. Also it’s surrounded by better regions of Germany and France, forcing us to take some detours. The missing cities like Antwerp and Eindhoven could also be added.

I voted for Benelux for obvious reasons. As The Netherlands is a very crowded country, it should be depicted crowded in ETS2, too. So I would like to have cities like The Hague, Utrecht and Arnhem as well. Maybe Zwolle, too. I also would like to have Europoort and/or Hoek van Holland (with ferry to the UK) and Schiphol Airport as cargo destinations. Also I would like to have some important roads:
- A2 Amsterdam-Utrecht-Eindhoven
- A12 The Hague-Utrecht-Arnhem
- A15 Europoort-Arnhem
- A28 Utrecht-Zwolle-Groningen
- A50 Eindhoven-Arnhem-Zwolle
But I know: if all those cities and roads will be in the new version of The Netherlands, it would basically mean the work of a new DLC. So I guess we must be content with what we get from SCS. Anyway, The Netherlands as it is now in ETS2 is way too unrealistic and empty. And please, please get rid of those sunflower fields.

As others have said, as much as I would love a UK rebuild next (as I live there) I would be behind either a Benelux or Austrian/Swiss rebuild first simply as both of those could be completed as a single or double update, where as the UK would require several to do it justice.

I don't think so. The problem with the UK is that it has a scale of 1:15. You cannot rebuild the UK in several parts, if the new UK would be in a scale of 1:19. But that's the question: will the UK be rebuild in the correct scale, or will it stay in 1:15?

My vote goes to Switzerland, or more basically the entire Alps area. Especially with the new lighting, that could guarantee spectacular sights. Iberia looks really promising but the game could benefit from another proper wow factor, like ATS with the Colorado DLC.

I did vote UK but would now say Benelux, think Britain needs a complete rescale and that is a LOT of work so Belgium, NL and Luxembourg would be a nice stop gap.

so which is better (and I don't want to be that guy starting an argument but am confused), which is better 1:15 or 1:19?

Well it depends. For SCS, 1:15 means more/longer roads to be made, but may be easier to plan. For players, 1:15 means a longer distance/time to travel, but at the same time more surroundings that can be seen during the trip.
For example, a 3500km trip that takes about 2h in 1:19 is about 2.5h in 1:15. I think 1:15 is a little bit better because there can be more roads/cities from RL in the game, but I'm aware for SCS that means more work, so I don't really care it's 1:19 right now.

Considering the quality of content they are achieving today, the best would had been to have 1:15 everywhere. There's so many things they sacrificed that could had fit in the map if it was 1:15...

But of course, several years ago they weren't so big as they are now neither have the resources or the expertise and they had to cut down the scale to a size that allowed them to live of their work. As like they started ATS in a way bigger scale (was it 1:35?) but once the project showed it was worthy they changed it to actual 1:20 when the map still wasn't so big that the task was still doable.

So, there's no better scale, just pros and cons for each one.

You don't necessarely need a 1:15 scale to get the things that are sacrificed in the 1:19 scale: ProMods and other map mods show that a 1:19 can contain a lot of things: complex road networks, big cities, etc.
But then again: do we need a 1:15 scale? I don't think so. The world in ETS2 (and ATS as well) is big enough for long hauls already; the longest hauls will take a few real life hours to drive, especially while using map mods. So 1:19 is big enough. For me at least.
