ETS2 1.37 Speculation Thread

With the ETS2 1.36 Open Beta released today and all the content revealed, it's time for us to start discussing about 1.37!

We know that some things have already been confirmed by Pavel for the next year, for example, the first graphic improvement and the new sound system. Now with DirectX 9 removed and DirectX 11 in final version, for sure SCS will now have much more freedom to make a lot of things than they could do in DirectX 9 by limitation.

This first thread will be updated with new official information about 1.37 when they are revealed!

Update 19 December 2019: During this year Christmas stream, Pavel confirmed at 1.37 we will have an improvement in the game sound system (Which possibly includes ambient sounds and truck sounds) and at 1.38 we will have a graphical improvement!

Update 14 January 2020: SCS make a blog post confirming once again that 1.37 will have improved sound thanks to the introduction of FMOD which will allow for the include more realistic environmental sounds (such as nature, city traffic and trains), as well as improve the way the truck sounds on different roads. And it was also confirmed once again that 1.38 will bring a new graphical update.

Update 04 February 2020: SCS announcement that the cities in France on the base map Metz, Reims, Strassbourg, and Dijon will receive a rework.

I love ETS2 and ATS, but I like other games of course!

SCS keeps adding bus station prefabs to the map. I hope it's leading somehere...

When I say official information, I refer the livestreams that SCS makes and etc. Like we had a few days ago Pavel talking about what's coming next year. And also about the Carthoo teasers and etc.

Well, I don't know about the upcoming DLC, but the previous ones have them, as do some reworked German cities, if I remember correctly.

Adding them in cities is 100 usual...
Like always, adding details and rralistic stuff to fhe city that may be used for such bus game in the future maybe.

It's not just adding details for realism, these are repeating driveable prefabs, similar to companies or hotels. I think it was mentioned in a stream or an interview or something that SCS are still working on a coach DLC, but slowly because it's not a high priority. Maybe something will be ready for one of the next updates?

I'd rather they focused on basics first. Like the awful engine sounds or rain reflections killing performance. You know, things other games got right a decade ago.

In 1.37, I think that ETS2 will get some updated screenshots on the loading screens like ATS got in 1.36.

Scania trucks are the best, but the Peterbilts are good too.
