This happened to me today with v1.37. Railroad grade crossing arms seem to drop pretty quickly after the bells began:

42% damage. Oof.

just for being an incredible game but with a horrible and unpleasant sound system.

SCS railroad xings... always stay away from them
It's ridiculous that you have no time to react with these! As soon as the barrier goes down... invisible wall hype

Approach them as you should, slowly and with great caution.
@DLM3 You're possibly using a truck mod for 1.36 (or older) thus it not having the window roll down/up animation built in - or however it functions.
Not that it's an important function anyway, my window stays closed, you don't have a window open at 80/50.

I find it funny that some people are saying bad things about FMOD, but they don't know how much capacity it will bring in the long run. FMOD is a sound engine used by most current games, a lot of games that you can imagine, are using FMOD. If you look on the official website, you'll see how many developers including renowned developers use FMOD in their games. 1.37 was the first phase of the FMOD, it is not over yet and we will have a lot of things with the next updates.

You were going like hell. I always slow down when approaching a railroad crossing, like in real life..
Imagine how slowly I would have to have been driving to stop in time. So do you approach every railway crossing at 20 kph? I suppose If I had one second or so to respond in real-life, I would also approach them very cautiously.

The default speed limit for railroad crossing is 30 kph/ 18 mph for most European countries, except another speed limit is indicated by a traffic sign and usually is under 30kph.
Anyway if you like to cross at the speed of sound is your suspension, tyres and your spine that will have a problem.

Ps. In Greece at least traffic rules state that you must cross with caution and slow enough and check both ways, even if the bars are up and you have a green light.

OK, my mistake. Apparently one second is plenty of warning for a railway crossing. thanks.
