Shaky view of wires and fences

#1 Post by Raahtaah » 26 Nov 2019 17:15

Guys, I wanted to take a doubt about graphics ...
I did a test with a GTX 1060 6GB + i3 8100 + 12gb 2400.
I wonder why even with this setup, the map's electrical wires, fences, and a few other models get shaky, ugly looking. Does anybody know how to solve this?

If you've set your graphics settings within the game to 400% scaling and smaa to ultra, there's nothing else you can do. It's up to the developers to add antialiasing to the game.

People used to fix this issue with nvidia profile inspector, but this only works for dx9 version of the game. Details here https://roextended.ro/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1100
Since the 1.36 update will be dx11 only, this fix will no longer work. Good news is that improved SMAA anti-aliasing will then be present in the game's core. If it's the same as the one in ATS 1.36 then things you mentioned will be smoothed, at least to some degree...

That makes things easier, just go to game options, graphics, set SMAA to the desired level (the higher, the better), apply. At least that's what I did in ATS 1.36 during the free weekend, it's not perfect but helps a lot.

Actually i see no difference if i disable it or put on low or on high. I think it was better in 1.35 without using Nvidia Inspector at all too. :(

Strange, it's clearly visible for me when SMAA is on/off. While not perfect at all (power lines, I mean) it still gets the game rid of most of the flickering. Are you guys using your monitor's default resolution in the game settings? Are the AA settings in nvidia's control panel "application controlled" for ETS2?

Hi @EliotMess Playing in Full HD, I've tried several settings, but the wires and other items continue with blurred vision, it gets ugly.
