Vøytek wrote: 11 Apr 2021 22:03 As I'm seeing such comments, I'll just drop a comparison of few signs. Unfortunately, orange tape ruins them a bit. Also, when I compare them now (and look at them closely), I can see some tiny font size issues etc. Keep in mind you'll never spot this when driving, unless you stop, take a screenshot and decide to compare it with SV... There are problems, of course, I'm a human too and make mistakes. But still, I'm really proud of my work. I added some old, weird designs (1st sign) and details such as slightly different brown shade for the Calahorra sign (if you look closely, there's even a bit of white-ish tape under CHERÍN!). That's just a small selection of hundreds of almost 1:1 signs I managed to recreate.

About ATS - keep in mind that's one country. There's one, clear system, which our ATS sign magician had to learn once and then improve his knowledge with plenty of examples during few years of development, to the point when he's familiar with it like with his own country's system and he knows what he can or can't do with it.

Now take a look at Europe. Every year there's a new region, which has completely different sign design. And Spain is known to have a huge mess on signs, which isn't that easy to represent in this scale, with missing roads or cities. It has to be studied from hundreds of examples before you start. And then you still learn more and more when working with those crazy Spanish signs, and in the end of development you even find some unique examples, which surprise you. I decided to include few of such unique, random signs, to improve the immersion.
Also, Iberia is huge. Colorado was 2 times smaller. It's impossible for 2-3 people to sign it 100% correctly and without some simplifications.

I hope some of you still enjoy this hard work, despite some problems which don't make me happy either :)
No Vøytek don't get us wrong here, those ones are signs that are pretty much perfect! And yes, there are many others throughout the map that are as good as these ones you showed. From my side, no complaints about these ones. I don't know if mackintosh was referring to other signs like the ones of the autonomous communities or similar that are missing, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't referring to those (and similar) that you showed.
But yeah, the oversimplification in many other signs is personally a low point of the DLC. Just to be sure of what you meant with simplifications, I understand that you are referring to signs like this one

and many many others that look to me more like temporary signs. I know it must take quite a lot of time to get these signs right, some of them are pretty dense, but I wonder if we might be able to see these "temporary" signs replaced from time to time or they are just going to stay like this, making the sign situation throughout the map pretty inconsistent. Judging by what you said in the final part of your post, I understand these oversimplified signs will stay (as I also imagine you have other things to work on now, with oncoming DLCs), which makes me sad to be honest but nvm, I'll just deal with it.

@Some newbie driver @krmarci I made a mistake with the numbers I provided earlier. The correct % number that I had before Iberia and with 1.40 installed was 89.10% and not 93.10 as mentioned in the previous post. My mistake was because when I changed from 1.39 to 1.40 my % dropped from 93.?? % to 89.10. The remaining numbers are correct. I apologize for my confusion. :(

Thanks, you're right! 😃

My assumption about the M-40 was wrong. Apparently, we're driving on the M-45 there.

You have to apologize for nothing. We are just doing napkin maths to burn time. That's not rocket science neither there's any life at stake. ;)

And as I said, there's other things that can distort the final values. But indeed, that number change you provide reduces significantly the results for Iberia; closer of what I'm guessing.

@festmache some signs when entering the Madrid ring road include mentions to either M40 and M45. I think they just have mixed both and took what it was most interesting of both for each place. We have to remember they don't pretend to depict exactly the real world but to create something that it's playable and its plausible. Two interchanges could be exactly to real life (sometimes the best way to be sure the atmosphere is correct) but the way they would be linked can be absolutely fake. So, at one moment I'm driving the M45 and the next stretch could be one of the M40.

Loving the new prefabs. Tight parking is fun... but I wonder how they will manage to unload my trailer :P

You have some national roads in southern Spain, eg n-430 between Valencia and Lisbon

I think not. If my memory serves, that road is the M-30.

Madrid?
There's both M40 and M45.
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/40.3544 ... m2!4m1!3e0
But from M45 to to A2, there M45 switches suddenly to M40, due to space limitations. This route to A2 actually goes to M-21.

And then switches from M-21 to A2 https://www.google.com/maps/dir/40.4498 ... m0!1m0!3e0
I think it is well done!
