FMOD Discussion [ETS2]

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Re: FMOD Discussion [ETS2]
@LeafeonGold - it won't work to control the volume in the turbo event as it isn't a turbo sound (i.e. being called for by the turbo) and if you set it as a turbo sound for that to work, it won't act the way you want it to....glad that you got it going
For the distance, you may have to play with the range settings...700 on a linear scale may be too far. You can also play with the curve yourself by manually shaping it to get exactly what you want.

Re: FMOD Discussion [ETS2]
Hello all! Who known about global parameter "surr_type"? I want some audiotracks of engine, make work when I seat in interior. Some experiments with trigger "cabin_out", do not give the proper result. Is there a parameter that separates the interior from exterior? Thank for attention.
Re: FMOD Discussion [ETS2]
They can only be separated by routing for interior/exterior.
What you can do though is assign sounds to different positioning within the interior for example by using the channel balancing, either manually through sliders in the mixer or by using the sphere....doing this can give the perception that a sound is coming from further away but only will work for people using 5.1 (or higher) audio.

Re: FMOD Discussion [ETS2]
Hi guys, hope you´re all fine.
I have a little question where I don´t know if that´s even possible, but maybe you can help me: I would like to trigger an air-brake sound file when I release the parking brake. That means that this air-brake soundfile should only be played when the parking-brake-off sound is triggered by the game and should be independent from the air-pressure value. It that somehow possible?
Thanks in advance,
Max

Re: FMOD Discussion [ETS2]
Yes, there are events for: event:/interior/stick_park_brake & event:/interior/stick_park_brake_off

Re: FMOD Discussion [ETS2]
@Robinicus Yes, but I don´t want to have the sound in the interior only. I want to activate the sound in the air-brake event when the interior stick is activated. Is there no way to do this?
Re: FMOD Discussion [ETS2]
AFAIK, that is the only option, there are exterior options for the brakes in the noise.bank for event:/noise/brake_short & event:/noise/brake_long that are exterior sounds; I haven't messed around with them to see if they trigger with the sticks or with brake pressure though.

Re: FMOD Discussion [ETS2]
Okay, then I´ll leave it as I have it at the moment.
And another question: Is there a way to trigger the turbo sound when the engine brake is engaged? Maybe to connect the turbo parameter with the engine brake parameter or something like that?
And where do I find the suspension sounds? I´ve searched everywhere, but didn´t find it.
Thanks for your help!

Re: FMOD Discussion [ETS2]
If you look over in the ATS FMOD thread there are a couple of approaches for the turbo sounds with engine brakes that work.
Suspension is all in the effects & noise banks - event:/noise/suspension_noise
