Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
Scania didnt want to develop a new Cab, just like Volvo so they just moved the back wall further out, so from the outside (if you dont look at the back) you wont notice any difference, but from the inside you will see it, maybe the next revision, if not but the next generation in say, 8 to 10 years maybe will have a longer cab for sure

Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
After the new DAF, and having a special topic about him i make a question in honour to the esence of this topic:
What do you think is going to be the new truck?
What do you think is going to be the new truck?
Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
It’s all going to be speculation anyway, so I’d say the oldest among the bunch first: S-Way or F-Max.
Mercedes would actually be great though.

I think MAN TGX 2020 or Iveco S-WAY.
Wouldn't mind Ford F-MAX or Volvo FH 2020, but I prefer the above ones.

IMHO, it might be the Actros 5 (with mirror cams as an option).
The Actros 3 that we have (since the release of the game) are low cabins (Standard Low Roof and High Roof) and the range-topping Megaspace. When Actros 4 landed on update 1.17 (in time for Scandinavia DLC release), high cabins (Streamspace, Bigspace and Megaspace) were only available. Low cabins and the OM470 engine have not in the game yet and I wish they can bring it in as an addon, as seen below.

While the next-to-be added trucks in the game potentially are:
-Volvo FH5 (with the addition of Globetrotter XXL)
-Iveco S-Way
For the MAN TGX, I think, it needs to add bumpers for the 2017 facelift and its new engines before they can bring in the next-gen.
As to Ford F-Max, in my prediction, it is likely to be in the game sooner even:
-The only engine of this truck is rated at 500hp (less capable of heavy cargoes more than 30t)
-Chassis configuration is only available in 4x2, both regular and low decks, and:
-IRL, majority of sales of this truck are coming from Turkey, where the truck is produced, followed by Russia (don't sure yet).
(P.S. it might be a perfect timing to bring in the game in line with the upcoming 'Heart of Russia' DLC.)

I hope Actros MP5 will be completed with a completely new CAD based 3D model(Perfect Geometry), not the 3D model of the existing Actros MP4.

Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
I think it will depend of the real benefits the competition achieves with the cabins adapted to the new regulations.xXCARL1992Xx wrote: ↑17 Jun 2021 17:34 maybe the next revision, if not but the next generation in say, 8 to 10 years maybe will have a longer cab for sure
One part of allowing those longer cabins is to improve aerodynamics. If the companies that shift to those longer cabins achieve significant benefits, on a market so much competitive, it could be a factor to force competitors to have to change sooner than they would want.
We will see

Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
That's very unlikely to happen. Both the Volvo 2020 and Actros 2019 if they ever come, will most likely be just a "facelift" of existing in-game models, as those are still considered to be of "acceptable quality".
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.
Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
Best of both worlds would be nice. Facelift + Old truck updated with newer dimensions.

Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
Yeah, but we're talking about SCS here and we all know SCS loves to take shortcuts. Otherwise we would get a refresh of each truck as it was getting tuning DLC, since it was perfect occasion as the trucks had to be slightly remodeled anyways and we all know that didn't really happen. That's why I'd rather get the S-Way. Because Volvo 2020 and Actros 2019 will be just crap facelifts.
