Next ETS2 truck speculation
Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
What I want is a cool modern and different IVECO S-WAY.
What we'd get is most likely the mildly updated Volvo or MAN.

Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
Thanks for the time to reply, @Winchester1979 !
About number 1, yes, most of them take the original model from SCS and upgrade it. I was thinking more of the job done by Knox on the Magnum for example, that improves the truck to a whole new level. Of course, the new options is a plus always.
2- Yes, I know that. I am a 3D modeler and the ones from Turbosquid and another 3D model stores are for another purpose, not for a videogame. Those are models with a thousands of polys, if rendering those takes time, imagine run them in a video game...
3- On this one, the one that I think can be on the discussion is the MB Antos by Danz, now updated by another guys. By the time, it was really well made.
But, I was thinking more related to point one. Some "rework" trucks can be a good fast and simple way to solve the issue, the plus is that it starts from an original model by SCS. BUT, a lot of the older models have some issues with the sizes and proportions, so I think the most sincere option is to do it from scratch... but that takes time and money.
Time will tell.

@Graf_Boinenn I don't see neither SCS purchasing the rights over a mod because several reasons (the ones that @Winchester1979 explained and others).
It exist a 4th option (in the trucks side, happened with the DAF XF and 50keda, if I recall well) that SCS hired a truck modeler that deemed worthy. But for that to happen not only the mods made by that person have to be worthy; SCS should be in the need for that hire to happen, it has to be somebody who wants to work for them, could work for them and will match well with the rest of the SCS team. It's not the same to mod for yourself than to have to work on a company where one must follow objectives, timelines and workflows (not to mention having to change your home even your country...).
Don't expect those things to happen frequently.
And as also has been said; all of this doesn't matter if SCS can't obtain the license for that specific truck anyways.
Regards

I thought about that too right as the WS released but now that I saw that the Renault re-design came, I lost hope.

Well, from the teaser on DAF's instagram, we can at least tell one thing: The headlights won't look anything like the current ones.
Re: Next ETS2 truck speculation
I saw some fan made creations where they remove the "camo" wrap... and was not impressed. I'll wait to see how the final product will look like but i'm not too sure that I'll like it... The interior looks quite nice tho (but i won't share pictures here for obvious reasons)
