POLL: How should the UK be rebuilt in your opinion.

I have always wondered what approach SCS would take when the day came to rebuild the UK... Personally I think SCS should change the time scale to match the rest of the map, and rebuilt everything from scratch in the new scale, but I want to hear YOUR opinions and WHY!

For those people who don’t know about the UK scale: The UK uses a different time scale which is 1:15, than the rest of the map which is 1:19. This is because the UK portion of the map originally came from SCS’ earlier title “UK Truck Simulator” (except the ports, which were added in ETS2). In the UK Simulator - the map was built in the 1:15 scale, so when SCS brought over the same map into ETS2, they simply kept the old scale. (Correct me about this if I’m wrong please but I don’t think I am as far as I know).

Also, what I mean by “do what SCS did for the ATS rescale (patch up holes)”: A few years ago, SCS decided the change the map scale of the entire ATS map from a small 1:35 size to 1:20 (after they determined ATS was worth their time and money to further develop). They took parts of the 1:35 map, rearranged those parts, and filled gaps with new roads to connect the old parts together. SCS has since rebuilt SOME of those old parts in more recent updates.

The poll attached is not about when, but HOW SCS SHOULD REBUILD THE UK...

Using the ATS method is literally impossible. How can they fill in the holes with new roads when 1:19 is smaller than 1:15 and would require less roads? This is what worries me the most. A lot of people don't understand that 1:15 is larger than 1:19 and demand a rescale, thinking it would allow 'more' roads.

OMG I didn’t think of that. That is a very good point! Better do something about that quickly

EDIT: Fixed that option to remove some roadway to fit the new scale — thank you for pointing that out

Going from 1:15 to 1:19 is the silliest idea ever.
Why??? What's the advantage?

They should NOT rescale it to match. The UK is already a small country as it is, so downsiz it to match the scale of rest of the map will remove a lot of stuff.
There are only 2 "benefits", with only 1 of them being valid:
1: Less development time needed due to smaller scale.
2: Synchronized timescale for multiplayer (not a valid benefit, as multiplayer is not supported).

Why only UK? And the rest old area? I would like to see all old area refreshed.

unfortunately only people from the UK really want it improving as i doubt many ETS drivers even drive the UK.

Oh, I can tell you, for me was it a big fun to drive through the UK on the false site and it was a good training. After this I had the chance to drive through the UK in real life. It was great for me.
The next step for me will be to drive with a right steer car.

Rebuild from scratch, but keep the current scale. The UK and Ireland are interesting places with their system of driving on the left, I think they deserve some love, due to their uniqueness. Its not really immersion breaking when the scale changes, so no reason to decrease the scale and lose content.
