Which area in ETS2 should be reworked next ?

So they're also reworking cities this time? Like they did with French cities (excluding Lille) and didn't with German cities?

On a side note, and that's a question for people who actually have been there - how accurate to real life are new city layouts? I'm talking about the whole map of course, or rather, newer dlc parts of the whole map.

What do you mean? Lille got the same deal as most other French cities except for Paris and Lyon: refreshed assets and new interchanges, but same city layout. Which isn't very different from what Germany got.

I'm a little dissapointed how SCS rebuilds cities in some of the game updates. For example, Lyon changed beyond recognition (road layout, even businesses got an overhaul), so did Paris before the release of Vive La France!, and Milan before the release of the Italia DLC.

Other cities: Calais received a reskin of the Port, but EuroTunnel has not been touched, and the same is true of the intersection layouts in the cities, as it was so is only with changed vegetation, road textures, etc. Companies are untouched. Of course, Calais looks much better than before, which makes me happy.

The rest of the cities that received a reskin (Lille, Strasbourg, Reims and German cities) have only benefited from the change of vegetation, road and intersection textures, but the road network is the same as it was (from the base game). I hope the German cities will get a complete rebuild with companies. As far as I know Pavel himself talked about it.

Today's blog says that scs is pleased with the enthusiasm players for announcing the reworking of Austria and that I don't want to leave us hungry for the news about the project for a long time, maybe they will tell us more in the Christmas stream and show new pictures, or that we will get another blog dedicated to reskin soon Austria

I love that they are adding billboards and ads to Austria. It adds a lot of immersion that is lacking from the older areas. Also, those city prefabs... Damn, son

Well, turns out only Paris and Lyon got a full overhaul (I wonder why, they don't seem to be very consistent with areas they work on, if the rest of cities were left out), but with that said, I don't remember which cities, except obviously Calais, were part of the base map. Post below yours also mentions Milan, though that's Italy, but it still counts.


Okay so now we can expect Austria in 2 or 3 future updates, what's next? You think they're going for the rest of Alpine region (ohmygods these roads through Switzerland are beautiful already), east, or maybe redo the Benelux?

By logic, they have to follow Austria's revamp with Switzerland. If they don't, then it will have a big hole in the map with poor quality map being surrounded by new areas. And to be honest, i wouldn't mind waiting for Austria if they choose to release it with Switzerland... That country is even smaller than Austria and probably wouldn't take that long. So two reworked countries in just one update, maybe at 1.46 or .47!?!?

There's no need to delay the release of Austria to wait for Switzerland if they decide to do it just after (seems logical, indeed)
