Indeed the only times I can lock my wheels is if im using G_brake_intensity 1.0 and if the truck is perfectly aligned it is even harder to have some kind of sliding.FawnPrince wrote: ↑05 Feb 2021 09:37The wheels locking aren't consistently and realistically locking.
I've seen some wheel lock indeed but sometimes wheels should lock but somehow. Bob-tailing is a good example. Despite having no weight on the rear axles, the wheels don't lock at all (except if your brake intensity is really high and lifts the rear your truck).
Nonetheless I'm confused whether ABS actually exists or not in the game, having just witnessed some sort of ABS-like behavior just three days ago on ATS...
If we dont have ABS simulation, why does the truck almost never lock up wheels?

Hoping that they do it since its been a thing that I wish to see implemented for quite some time. That and perhaps some new animations to the truck like proper axle animation and physics , tyre deformation etc.FawnPrince wrote: ↑05 Feb 2021 08:56The physics need a bit of a rework. Perhaps SCS' next move is to rework physics since the sounds, graphics and lights have been reworked in the span of a year.

Let's hope we will have some of that if they ever rework the physics of both games

Suggestion: Add TIR, ADR plates, stickers...
Suggestion: LEDs bars, grill pods...
Suggestion: Improved paint job system
Suggestion: How to make narrow roads a viable option
J-Spec enthusiast, often dreams about plastic panels and dirty rims.

Beamng drive is on another level of physics compared to ets and ats so there isn't really much comparison to do there tbh. Maybe traction control and abs might be able to be implemented in the future.. who knows.

Yeah, it's very hard to find a game that has it all. ATS and ETS2 have so much going for them it's hard to complain, but there are other options that have better feel.
Re: If we dont have ABS simulation, why does the truck almost never lock up wheels?
The wheels don't lock that easily now or slide at all because they have a lot more grip compared to real life. Maybe 4-5 times more.
What I say is mostly accurate.

Maybe in the future we could have added the option of changing brake simulation ingame. Some kind of option to reduce tyre grip to get the closest to reality according to player's taste. Maybe something like the stability and brake sliders so why not have another slider for tyre grip values to bring the truck feel even closer to reality.

as long as those systems are not ingame people would just star sliding because "its an option!!1!11!" and then crying why the truck drives so unpredictable, this is why there is no slider for grip

I wish they would give us c_var for it. I would love to try that

I believe there isnt a slider for it simply because they didnt think about implementing it yetxXCARL1992Xx wrote: ↑09 Feb 2021 18:27as long as those systems are not ingame people would just star sliding because "its an option!!1!11!" and then crying why the truck drives so unpredictable, this is why there is no slider for grip
