@dahaka are there direct truck ferries from Greece to Barcelona? I ask because I use this site for reference, and it has such routes listed, but draws them though mainland Italy for some reason, via Civitavecchia and Bari. Is this an error, or is it like a ferry equivalent of a connecting flight?

Yes the Belarus thing I have it clear, is in the straight line from EU to Moscow so it's pretty no-brainer as you said. My doubt was about the West Balkan ones and you let it clear with that answer. Thanks for the insight dahaka.

I know that SCS is already in the production or pre-production stage of the Western Balkans

We can be sure they had been all this year making assets for the DLC after HoR. And we can be sure they had been already started mapping that future DLC. Lots of people hope it will be Balkans but you can't give nothing for granted until you don't see it. Wait for about 1 month and it's pretty probable we all would know what's coming.

That's for sure they will give us something to "keep us busy" until the end of Christmas break.

On the Christmas Stream they will definitely show the first screenshots of this next map expansion, but they won't say a word what the region is and just let the community discover.

Well, it all depends. Screenshots could be easily identified (the ability of some people for that is fascinating). Or they could decide to just plainly announce it (remember Iberia in 2019 Christmas stream). Or they announce anything else (trucks, trailers, future features...) and remain quiet about map, silently enjoying our desperation.

But we know for sure they had already started to map next after HoR; it has been this way since a lot of years ago due a good reason. So, whatever they would do, granted they had enough material already for a good teaser that fuels the hype train.

I'm really looking for a hype train by the end of December. As you said there is a lot of ways to tease us but also leave us anxious but I'm sure that ATS and ETS2 will have some teasers for everyone like you said.

But like Texas is announced and not even close to finishing line a few days ago announced Montana so it's fairly sure that the next map expansion will be announced or teased.

As far as I know there aren't any direct routes from Greece to Spain. I mean the ship from Patra to Venice already takes 32 hours, and the ship from Civitavecchia to Barcelona takes around 22 if I remember correctly, so Imagine if the ships attempted to sail around Italy all the way to Spain. It would take less time for a truck to drive the whole distance on land, even if done within legal hours.

dahaka, is right. For me, it seems that Greece to Spain ferries, are 2 ferries, with a drive between those.

In this case, Barcelona to Genova or Livorno, then to Ancona or Bari, then to Igoumenitsa. (or to Venice, then to Patras)
