We get the model in game before the real-life launch, so only trucks made until then are pre-production vehicles.

Apologies if this has already been posted but if not looks like there are new Renault trucks incoming according to this press release on the Renault Trucks Website.
"On 6 April 2021, the manufacturer will reveal the 2021 evolution of the Renault Trucks T in Euro Truck Simulator 2, the truck driving simulation video game".

The date makes me think the 1.40 release might to be on that day
