What's the story about this trailer?

Recently SCS Software posted a "how it started, how it's going" post on Twitter. In the screenshot it showed this "aerodynamic" trailer which I remember got removed eventually.

I'm curious why it was removed. What's the story about it its discontinuation?

I can't 100 percent say it's sure but the trailer was 6 years old so that's one part of it however i have no idea.

IIRC, it was quite atypical and wrong to some degree.
when we introduced owning mechanics we had to remake trailers anyway. so now, there is some bit more common aero setting for some of current trailers.

its not like they dont exist, just not really on the road except for special promotions or events instad of day-to-day transport

Here's a fun fact. This particular trailer is based on Iveco's & Kogel's project: Transport Concept, from 2007

Also, it was used again in 2009 with newer stralis, you can read about it here


However, game's model had one sufficient problem (at least in my opinion): it was too wide, 2,6 m. approx.

That wouldnt be a problem.. refridged trailers are 2,55m wide because of the thicker isolated walls.. so when driving it wouldnt be much of a problem at that 5 cm..
I think its because its outdated compared to other trailers.. also when owning a trailer.. we cant own a trailer with sideskirts and other aeros on it
