i understand your point.. but there will be people who dont want that on a server.. so for that there must be a roadworks and a non-roadworks server for that.. as people have sliders in there options menu.. so like i stated before.. what is random for you might not be random for someone else.. so they would be driving through your roadworks event that they cant see.. same with detours.. if your driving in a convoy and you cant take the exit and the driver in front of you can.. thats gonna be a problem...MrAbner wrote: ↑20 Jul 2021 13:45 I don't mean as random events, but use the assets to show updates are being worked on.
One update, a roadwork crew shows up, blocks off half the road. Next update, there is new highway there and the works have moved over to the other side of the road. Bridges under construction, that actually evolve over updates. That kind of thing.

you still didnt understood him, he doesnt mean random events, he means a permanent change on the map until the next update where a change will be made to let it look like progress on renewing the street, or buildign a house or something

as in other topics the SCS would be quite busy... how would you think they would manage to get the weekly server updates done aswell??
and not everybody would like that.. so SCS would need 2 servers for that.. for the ones who do. and the ones who dont..
i`m for the group who dont want that... like with random events and detours.. its was fun in the beginning.. but after a while i turned it off.. i just wanted to drive and get from point A to point B..

about servers... where do we log into when we play online then?? i wouldnt expect that if i host a session that i become a server, do i?

ofc YOU are the server if you open a session, how else do you thing it works ? SCS didnt rent any servers where it runs on or else we would be able to create our own dedicated server

because with other games i have played there was a server from the game itself.. when that server got taken down.. nobody could host a session anymore.. or go online in general..

Server, indeed!
Actually, there's a tunnel I think in Austria — in the Alps anyway — which has traffic routed to single lane traffic through one of a paired tunnel. Due to work on the other tunnel, one assumes. It has been like this since Day One as near as I can tell. Work crew must have a very good union, the work never seems to get completed. When maps get updated, I just think it would be nice to see things like this change. Open up the repaired tunnel, and close the other one for repairs, just for a change, and it will make the world feel more dynamic.

Or they could avoid fixed events (unfinished roads,...) and let these things to random events.
Then we would have option to the finished road (disabling random events in game options) or to the unfinished one (enabling random events).
The truth is that seeing an unfinished road or something similar for a long time (even forever) is not good.
