Re: ETS2 1.42 discussion thread
then stop using mods and play the game, do you think i found it good when SCS brought 1.40 and i had to throw out pretty much every big mod i made with over 10k files in them ?
they make the game to make money not so you can mod it, if they want to update it they will

Re: ETS2 1.42 discussion thread
No once forces you to update. I work on private mods almost everyday (mainly truck models and accessories) and I don't have such problems.
Sure things break, but then I stay on the previous version until I fix it. Not SCS' fault.

Thank you; I wrote the above comment specifically to attract the self-righteous, and to attempt to render my comment, and those of others like me, invalid.
But answer me this: Why is the game made moddable in the first place, and such importance being placed on the modding community? I expect you have some saccharine, self-righteous answer for that also. x

In order for the games to be further developed, receive additions, they have to make changes. SCS already do what they can compatibility wise, the world doesn't revolve around modders.

Re: ETS2 1.42 discussion thread
I didn't say that it did, or even imply that. I simply vented frustration that the updates are now so frequent as to render it very difficult for me to play the game, as a user of SCS software of some 15 years or so, you can imagine that's pretty frustrating. It's not as though v1.42 has any significant map changes, either. In my opinion there should be one or two updates per year, and make those updates fairly major ones so as to make us long-term players of the game(s) at least feel that farting around with 130+ mods, or even just one mod, is worth the time and trouble at my age. x
Re: ETS2 1.42 discussion thread
I don't think On The Road even offers mod support, so of course there would be no problems with incompatible mods with every update.
Besides, as you said you find that there are no significant changes in 1.42, then just stay at 1.41 and enjoy your mods a little while longer.

System specs: Ryzen 5800X3D, RTX3080 (no OC), Varjo Aero (using OpenXR through OpenComposite instead of SteamVR), 32 GB DDR3200, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB, Win10. And most importantly: vanilla game, no mods.

not sure if you missed my last sentencexyzan wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021 07:59 But you made a great point - and this is what we said earlier:
"i have several vanilla sessions on Convoy"
VANILIA profile is for playing with strangers. And this is working very nice. Problem starts, when you reach random player that have 50 mods on their profile. This won't work. This is for closed group, like VTC or friends.
"If we talk about modded convoy I agree with you, that is for friends not the "public"."

Time to try it later on, any major issues with the G29?
