New FFB Discussion (1.42 and onwards)
I startet this topic because it's hard to find all the Force Feedback related posts in the general update thread.
Since the 1.42 update I have troubles with FFB. I'm using a Fanatec DD2 wheelbase, before the last update I had smooth FFB without any mayor issues.
After the update my FFB feels like it's jerky, it feels like there are little micro steps implemented in the FFB. Nothing I had experienced before with any game.
My in-game settings are back to default after trying all different settings with no luck. I cannot believe that SCS is only supporting low end wheels. The Fanatec DD2 is not a common product for ETS2/ATS, but why shouldn't I use it? It's much more comfortable to sit in my racing rig for trucking than on an office chair at my desk.
Anyone any tips what I could try?

slide everything to zero but leave gain around 1/2 way up along with high and low speed centering and go from there

I don't think so because it's not wheel related. It's a feature of the new FFB system.

Re: New FFB Discussion (1.42 and onwards)
I have set my steering sensitivity to 2520° which makes it a little bit better than 900° before. But it still does not feel smooth like in other simulations or games. It's still like a very worn gear driven wheel (e.g. Logitech G27). Before 1.42 it was absolutely smooth on the DD2.Space_Night wrote: ↑27 Oct 2021 16:22 slide everything to zero but leave gain around 1/2 way up along with high and low speed centering and go from there

Try to reduce friction in the game.AT_RubberDuck wrote: ↑27 Oct 2021 14:33 I startet this topic because it's hard to find all the Force Feedback related posts in the general update thread.

You can add damping in the FF system to add some resistance.
Re: New FFB Discussion (1.42 and onwards)
I'm using the CSL DD and only adjusted the default FFB settings by upping the overall gain + internal friction to 3/4 of the slider instead of 1/2.
In the Fanatec tuning menu I use these settings (driver v4.15):
- SEN 1800 (in game animation also 1800 degrees)
- FF 100%
- FFS Peak
- NDP 15%
- NFR 10%
- NIN 3%
- INT 3
- FEI 100%
- FOR 100%
- SPR 100%
- DPR 100%
- BLI 98%
- SHO 100%
With these settings, the wheel feels smooth to me. With the new FFB engine, I have the feeling I can really feel the resistance of the tires on the tarmac, especially when turning the steering wheel when standing still or when the truck is barely moving.

System specs: Ryzen 5800X3D, RTX3080 (no OC), Varjo Aero (using OpenXR through OpenComposite instead of SteamVR), 32 GB DDR3200, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB, Win10. And most importantly: vanilla game, no mods.
