By '31 I'll be 72 and might be retired, more time to play games - lol
By '31 we will at least have Australia Outback Truck Simulator and South America Truck Simulator
By '31 we might have multi core support, better anti alaising and support for textures in higher quality

New engine 10 years from now? I highly doubt it!

By 2031, ETS2 and ATS are monthly subscription based, they'll be based on Unreal Engine 7, we'll get console versions, and Convoy mod will be cross platform!

Even Ryzen 11 12775 nor Intel 17999 combined with a Nvidia RTX 9999 or AMD 191919 GPU will solve the major problem SCS have at the moment. The lack of multicoresupport.

I doubt we will have CPUs running at 1-5 THz in a few years, ofcourse there are interesting development goint to optical data processing, but i think i won't this this productive for customers in my life, perhaps my children if they retire.

The multicore support should not be an answer to badly written mods (i found an interesting thread in the RoEx-Forum regarding typical "failures" of badly written mods, and the change of behaviour from ets2 since version 1.35), it should sove the problem of bad performance while huge amounts of cpu power is not used.

Due to change to 1.42 i actually run a clean SCS combo and even there with no evil mods i encounter drops, and its not really on a kindergarden rig, not the actual hardware of this season, but modern enough to tell you that 11 cores are waiting for some work while 1 core is at 100% load. With the latest hardware it won't shift only 5-10% more clockspeed depending on silicon lottery.

Is there any thread where information is passed how the evolvement of the Prism 3D engine is, of course this will take a certain amount of time, but i think a lot people would be surprised how fast there system is if all cpu Power is used.

I think implementing multicore support would demand a totally new iteration of the engine (Prism Evo?)

bobgrey1997 wrote: 02 Nov 2021 07:12What makes you assume they will keep 1.xx going? Version 2.0 would simply mean a significant change to the overall game, making it vastly different from previpus versions.
By 2031 the version number will be 620.0, and the user will have no clue at which stage of the development a significant change has occurred. Get with the programme set by Google Chrome.

The game map will be extended to Asia in the next year, and the game name will be changed to Eurasian truck simulation. Do you think this day will come? Personally, I think so, but the first Asian map DLC Turkey or Georgia may not be available until around 2025-2026.
