Things like to minimize when windows is trying to update itself. Especially when it's asking whether to restart now or leave it for later. But that's still not the game's problem.
Though, every time my game, any game, went to the taskbar, it autopaused if it could.

Gotta watch that following distance on special transports if you've got low brake sensitivity; the rozzers'll hit the bloody brakes out of nowhere. Found out the 'ard way when I was following too close for me own good.

As I said, I've no idea what's causing this. I do know it's a RPITA. If someone finds out the cause let us know. In the meantime I'll still keep looking for it.

There is another option, which I tend to do.

I simply lowered the traffic density to... I think 0.25 or so. Takes away much of the annoyance so I can focus better on Europe's twisty, barrierized road system.

Does it help? Somewhat. I use mouse steering so invariably, there are times said steering mechanism will go awry, Its more the road guards on the roadside that tend to annoy me. One reason I lowered traffic was so that I would have a better leeway without traffic issues.

Show trucks are working trucks, they simply do the same job in a slightly more noticeable and stylish fashion.

I rarely crash into other vehicles. More often I clip a wall. The damage from doing this is very light. On special transport I can scrape a wall with the Massive Tech Part to the point that the truck comes to a stop. The load should be significantly damaged but is not.

It used to be that you could drive during the night with next to no traffic. This is no longer the case. Traffic density is similar between day and night on wide roads.
